Foreword The Queensland Teachers Training College (QTTC) opened its doors in January 1914 with only 57 students. This college would later become a part of the Brisbane College of Advanced Education in 1982 and merge with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 1991. Fast forward to 2014 and QUT has one of the largest education faculties in Australia. There are approximately 4500 students currently enrolled in our undergraduate and postgraduate education programs. The QUT Faculty of Education is at the forefront of teacher education and we lead by example in the provision of Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary undergraduate and graduate entry programs. Each of these programs has undergone an intensive redevelopment process over the past two years in order to attain national accreditation. This was the first time in our history that our programs required national accreditation to enable the registration of teachers. We welcomed new students into the undergraduate programs in 2014, and will welcome new graduate entry students in 2015. We are a recognised leader in research and research training, as shown by our ‘above-world-standard’ rating for overall performance in education research in the national Excellence in Research assessment process. In addition, we have established a broad global community of scholars with schools and international government and non-government partners. There are many milestones which mark the journey of a century-old organisation. However we acknowledge that these milestones are reflective of the journey of hundreds of thousands of former staff and students—it is a history that we can all celebrate with pride. ForewordThe Queensland Teachers Training College (QTTC) opened its doors in January 1914 with only 57 students.

In addition, we have established a broad

global community of scholars with schools and international government and non-government partners.

There are many milestones which mark the journey of a century-old organisation. However we acknowledge that these milestones are reflective of the journey of hundreds of thousands of former staff and students—it is a history that we can all celebrate with pride.
