Forex Fundamental Analysis

Forex Fundamental Analysis• The main driver of strong currency fundamentals is interest rates.• If a country or region (USA, European Union, Canada, etc.) is raising

interest rates their currency will strengthen.• Check current interest rates and direction of rates here for the 8

major currencies we follow:• http://www.fxstreet.com/economic-calendar/world-interest-rates/

Interest Rate Table

Forex Fundamental Analysis• Some currencies like the CAD, NZD and AUD are commodities based

currencies that follow the price of gold and oil.• If these commodities are falling their currencies will be falling also.• So these three currencies are affected by interest rates and the price

of commodities.• Other currencies like the EUR and USD are reserve currencies.

Forex Fundamental Analysis

Forex Fundamental Analysis• In the previous slide the USD/CAD is in a long term uptrend. This is

because the US economy is strengthening during this period of time and the price of oil is also falling. So the USD is strengthening and the CAD is weak, creating the uptrend on the USD/CAD. This is how trends form in the forex market on currency pairs.
