Being a slave. Being a slave was a hard and sometimes painful experience. But Curzon was not willing to give up just yet. Curzon was a young slave in the state of New York seeking to make a deal with his master. Curzon’s master Bellingham applies him into the army and claims once done with his service he may be free. But when Curzon gets wounded, and captured into a jailhouse Bellingham's plans change…

Being free!“ You have freed us!” Curzon exclaims as he and his fellow friend Isabel are newly freed slaves. Isabel and Curzon then split up by the choice of going to totally different places and Curzon is forced to find work without being captured and sold.
