Production at NOMAC is scrap-based and consists of:

• Melting in a basic EAF (approx. 15 tons)

• Refining and final alloying in an AOD (approx. 17 tons)

• Casting in bottom poured ingots

• Forging in a 1600 ton forging press

• Heat treatment in electric furnaces

• (calibrated according to ASTM A 991 –NORSOK M650)

• Quenching in a water tank close to the furnaces

• NDE, primarily UT and PT

• Machining or grinding

• Mechanical and corrosion testing, metallography
