FORGETTING ELLA

INT SITTING ROOM-DAY 1-AFTERNOON.

We are looking down the length of a comfortable middle class home. The sitting room consist of a carpet, original painted wall, Television and a sound system.

Emmy is a tall light skinned guy with cropped hair and is between 25-30years and has got a soft spot for his wife Ella. Emmy is sitting on one of the couch in the sitting room listening to his wife's favourite blues. Emmy and Ella are couples. The main door leading to the entrance of the house opens and Ella comes in back from work.

ELLA

      (music playing)Hi honey 

EMMY

 (hug& kisses)welcome back baby, how was work today?

          ELLA

(Sigh)Today wasn't as stressful as yesterday .(smile)              

       EMMY HOLDS ELLA HAND AND THEY ARE DANCING TO THE REEDEM OF THE MUSIC.  

        EMMY

    THAT’S LOVELY, I REALLY HATE SEEING YOU STRESSED OUT

EMMY CONT'D

 I love you so much and i am so happy that you came into my life for good, will love you even till death.

ELLA 

(blushing) aaww honey, words alone cant explain how much i love and cherish you.

INT BEDROOM ROOM-DAY 1-NIGHT.

  Emmy and Ella's bedroom is a large angled room with a 32inchs television, wardrobe and also a their wedding picture portrait.

the only light coming in is the light projects from the landing to the ceiling, the room is a bit dark.

EMMY

        ELLA

GOOD NIGHT HONEY

both cuddled and slept off.

INT BEDROOM ROOM-DAY 2-DAY.

Ella and Emmy woke up and realises its late, Ella has to go to work. Emmy is his own boss, he owns a company. while Ella works for a government parastatal.

              ELLA

(GETTING READY AND COMPLAINING)I HAVE TO TAKE A CAB TO WORK,I AM SUPER LATE I DONT WANT TO HAVE ISSUES WITH MY DIRECTORS,BESIDES WE HAVE A MEETING AT 9:AM THIS IS 8:30 AND I HAVE NOT DRESSED UP,TALK MORE OF EATING.

             EMMY

You are not taking a cab, i will drop you off at work. please eat something before stepping out.

             EMMY CONT'D

Remember what the doctor said breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

                  ELLA

               I know right.

      ELLA CONT'D

(SMILE)IS BREAKFAST MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY MEETING?

                ELLA CONT'D

What if i get fired?

                    EMMY

I will employ you and you will be my manager.

 

              (BOTH LAUGHING) 

    EMMY DROPS OFF ELLA AT WORK.

INT OFFICE-DAY 2-AFTERNOON.

ELLA is rounding up from work, her best friend pops up into her office and is sitting in one of the chairs. The both work in same office her name is Sandra. Sandra and Ella have been best of friends since their childhood. but Sandra is still single.

                ELLA

Sandra, come spend the weekend with us, its been a while you came around don't you think so.

              SANDRA

 That’s right, i will come around but make sure u prepare my favourite Chinese stew.(giggling)

              ELLA

Then that not a problem. request granted(giggling)

(PHONE RINGING,EMMY CALLING)

ELLA

Hi Honey 

            EMMY

BABY,ARE YOU DONE FOR THE DAY? AM WAITING FOR YOU AT THE HALLWAY.

      ELLA     

Yes Honey. okay, i will be with you in a bit. kisses

Ella and Sandra comes to meet Emmy at the hallway. Emmy and Sandra exchange pleasantries. They all walk out of the office. Sandra bids them farewell.

INT BEDROOM ROOM-DAY 2-EVENING.

Ella is busy working on her laptop. Emmy comes out of the toilet and is standing at the door watching his wife do her thing.

ELLA

Honey, i just go a mail from my director telling me to represent him in a meet at Swansea tomorrow morning at 11am.

EMMY

Its so sudden. Emmy hugs Ella am already missing you. well, its for good isn't? You should start getting your stuffs ready for the trip.

                      EMMY CONT'D

         Besides when did he say your returning?

                      ELLA

          In 2days time, I would be back in no time.

                      EMMY

                That true.

                    ELLA

                 Love you.

                  EMMY

              Love you too.

                     

INT BEDROOM ROOM-DAY 3-DAY.

(O.S)  Ella embarks on her trip and encountered an auto crash. Everybody in the vehicle is meant to be dead. the police picked up Ella’s Identity card and used it to trace her house.         

    POLICE

    (knocks at the door)

EMMY

(DOOR OPENS) Hello

POLICE

Are you Mr Emmy please?

                    EMMY

 Yes i am, is there any problem?

                    POLICE

 Yes. we found this identification card in one of the vehicle that crashed, everyone in the vehicle was burnt to death, so we had to check for any identification in other to contact the relatives of the diseased.

    EMMY IN SHOCK LOOKINNG SO CONFUSED.

                    POLICE CONT'D

          Please accept our sympathy.

                                               (FADE OUT)

Emmy is experiencing a pensive trauma. He cannot not sleep or  eat, all he is doing is drinking and thinking of the good time he has spent on earth with his loving and caring wife.  

               

INT SITTING ROOM-DAy4-DAY.

          (phone ringing)Sandra calling.

                   SANDRA (O.S)

Hello Emmy what wrong been trying to reach Ella, She invited me over for the weekend. meanwhile how are you doing?

EMMY

                Ella is dead.

                   SANDRA (O.S)

  What? I would be there in a few minute

                  

The door is opened, Sandra walks in, Emmy is sitting helplessly in one of the couches in the sitting room. she consoles him and she feels terrible for loosing her best friend who stood with her when no one did.

SANDRA

You have to eat something, you can't be like this forever you know.

                      EMMY

        Thanks but am not hungry. would eat when i get hungry, i appreciate.

                      SANDRA 

Well if you say so. but i think you should eat even though you not hungry, u have not had anything to eat since you heard of Ella's death. all you've been doing is drinking  alcohol. That’s not good for your health you know! and it wouldn't solve any problem. 

                      EMMY

Do not preach to me, all i have is gone what else do you want me to do.

                     SANDRA

Its okay, your gonna be fine. just take it easy. i would see you tomorrow.

                    EMMY

          Thanks for coming around.

                    SANDRA

                   It's fine

                                                (FADES OUT)

Its been 3months Ella died. Emmy is now stronger . Sandra kept on coming around to ensure that Emmy is safe. Sandra is taking very good care Emmy.

INT SITTING ROOM-DAY5-EVENING.

Ella comes to Emmy’s house to cook for him. Emmy is at the sitting room talking alcohol While Emma is done cooking and serves his meal, She prepared fried rice and spicy chicken.

                    SANDRA

Emmy dinner ready. stop taking that alcohol and come and eat your food before it get cold.

                    EMMY

okay. But first we have to make a toast with a full glass of alcohol.

                SANDRA

         I don't take alcohol.

      

    EMMY MOVES TOO CLOSE TO SANDRA. 

                  EMMY

There is always a first time beside its not a bad experience trust me.

                  SANDRA

Its fine. i've heard you, hand me a glass.

                 

EMMY

 Emmy hands a glass to Sandra.

THEY BOTH DRANK AND GOT DRUNK PROCEEDED TO THE ROOM AND HAD SEX.SANDRA WOKE UP BEFORE EMMY AND REALISED WHAT HAPPENED BTW THEM,SHE QUIKLY FLEED BACK TO HER HOUSE, WITHOUT EMMY KNOWING.SHE WASNT COMFORTABLE WITH WHAT HAPPENED BTW THEM.

EMMY WOKE UP AND FELT DIFFERENT,HE HAD NO REGRETS WITH WHAT HE DID WITH SANDRA.RATHER HE IS THINKING OF MARRYING HER,SINCE ELLA IS GONE.

EMMY WENT TO SANDRA'S HOUSE TO TELL HIM WHAT HE FEELS ABOUT HER AND ALSO HE WOULD LIKE TO SPENT THE REST OF HIS LIFE WITH HER.SANDRA DID NOT AGREE INITIALLY BUT AS TIME WENT ON SHE SUCCUMBED TO THE IDEA BECAUSE ITS BEEN 7MONTHS ELLA HAD BEEN GONE.

EMMY AND ELLA GOT MARRIED AND 3WEEK LATER SHE GETS PREGNANT FOR EMMY.

EMMY AND SANDRA ARE BOTH LIVING HAPPILY TOGETHER.

INT SITTING ROOM-DAY 6-DAY.

It’s a year and six months Ella surfaced, Sandra and Emmy are both surprised and shocked at the sight of Ella. they are all left in a  dilemma.

EMMY

(confused)What happened to you?

                   ELLA

      A lot! a lot my dear husband.

EMMY AND SANDRA LOOKS AT EACH OTHER. 

                   ELLA CONT’D

Meanwhile, why is Sandra here? and whose baby is she carrying

                  EMMY

            It's a long story.

Emmy and Ella excuses Sandra from the sitting room to the bedroom.

                  EMMY CONT'D

 I taught you where dead. Thats why i got married to Sandra.

                    ELLA

(Shouting)Can you hear yourself. So you couldn't morn me for at least 2years, you had to get married to my best friend.it really hurt.

                    ELLA CONT'D

Meanwhile i was in coma for 6 months i woke up and fell into another coma for another 9 months. Emmy, i had a fatal accident (crying)

EMMY CUDDLED ELLA.

                   EMMY

    I'm really sorry about that.

Ella walks out on Emmy heading to the sitting room. Emmy followed suit.

                  ELLA

  (SHOUTING) Ella is reigning abuses on Sandra. Sandra get the hell out of my husbands house you slut. 

                  SANDRA

Please Ella take it easy we can resolve this. I'm really sorry please forgive me.

                  EMMY                   

(SHOUTS) No one is leaving this house.

Ella is shocked at Emmy's response , she walks out of the sitting room into the bed room. Emmy is in a state of confusion, he follows her to the bedroom and is trying to talk to her to take things easy on Sandra knowing that she is pregnant , Ella turned deaf ears.

Emmy, Ella and Sandra are all living together. Emmy tried making love to Ella but the face of Sandra kept on reflecting on Ella's, He has no feeling for Ella anymore. Ella feels betrayed by her husband and her best friend and is making the house uncomfortable for Sandra but realised that it wasn't necessary because Emmy truly loved her not until he taught she was dead and the love he had for her died with her.

Ella forgave Sandra and Emmy, she left the house for the new couple to live happily. Sandra and Emmy are still best of friends. Sandra gives birth to a baby girl and named her Ella. Ella returns back for the baby's christening.(giggling)
