Product Description· Physical Appearance: gray coarse powder· Specific Gravity: 2-2.5· Contains natural fibers, minerals and poly-
saccharides· Packaged in 40 lb. bags· Environmentally acceptable
Function· To squeeze out fluid phase and solid
plug, bridging inside and across loss circula-tion zones, i.e. vugular, fractures, perfora-tions or casing leaks
Benefits· Quick acting loss circulation plug· Single sack mix · Extremely easy to mix through standard rig
hopper in both water, brine or base oil/syn-thetic
· No spacer is required; contaminant friendly to both water base or non aqueous base fluids
· Unique flow properties allow mixing even up to 18.0 ppg slurries
· Can be used in whole circulation system up to 10 lb/bbl for seepage loss
· No risk of side tracking hole (as with ce-ment)
· Temperature stable up to 450° F
Slurry Mixing Recommendations· The recommended concentration of slurry is 80 lb/bbl (28 kg/
m3) in either water or base oil/synthetic. If required, weight up to desired density with barite or calcium carbonate.
· Simply add two sacks ofper bbl of fluid (Do not mix less than 50 bbl slurry). Do not use whole mud (It has low fluid loss).
· Mix pill in this order: Prepare calculated vol-ume of fluid in a clean mixing tank, add 2/3 of the sacks and then add the required barite to desired density. Then add the remaining 1/3 quantity of
; mix for 15-20 minutes. Pump and

Squeeze Procedure· Determine as closely as possible location of loss zone. · Calculate volume of the slurry to cover at least 50% excess the loss zone. (50 bbl Mini-
mum)· Place bottom of drill pipe or bit at depth that will allow an equivalent open hole vol-
ume to remain across the loss zone. · Spot the pill and pull up slowly 90-ft above the pill or into the last casing. · Close the annular preventer and apply gentle squeeze 100-300 psi to maximum of an-
ticipated mud weight required for the interval, holding the pressure for 10-20 minutes. · Break circulation slowly with slow pump rates washing to bottom. Then resume drill-
ing operations.
A mixture of 80 ppb was mixed in water and blended for 10 minutes in a Hamilton Beach Mixer, weighted up with barite to 17.5 ppg and an API test (100 psi at room temperature) was run using screen only -250 micron size as the filter medium.Fluid phase was squeezed out leaving the resulting LC plug cake shown above.
