To form the PRESENT TENSE…use the base form of
the verb.Examples: complain, worry,
enjoy, save
PRESENT TENSE VERBS are verbs that are existing or
happening now.
To form the PAST TENSE…add
d or ed to the base form of the verb.
Examples: complained, worried, enjoyed, saved
PAST TENSE VERBS are verbs that are existing or happening in
the past.
To form FUTURE TENSE verbs…
use will with the base form of the word.
Examples: will complain, will worry, will enjoy, will save
FUTURE TENSE VERBS are existing or happening in the
future.
To form the PRESENT PERFECT TENSE…use
have or has with the past form.
Examples: has complained, have worried, has enjoyed, has
saved
The PRESENT PERFECT TENSE are verbs that are existing or
happening sometime before now.
Examples: We have dreaded this for a long time.
He has complained about the ride often.
To form the PAST PERFECT
TENSE…use had with the past form.
Examples: had complained, had worried, had enjoyed, had
saved
PAST PERFECT TENSE VERBS are verbs that are existing or
happening before a specific time in the past.
Examples: Until today, we had dreaded this for weeks.
To form FUTURE PERFECT
TENSE VERBS…use will have or shall have with
the past form.Examples: Fred will have been
here six times.We shall have enjoyed ourselves
immensely!
FUTURE PEFECT TENSE VERBS are existing or
happening before a specific time in the future.
