Directions: This discussion will give you an opportunity to integrate course concepts from the first four chapters of our text. Watch the movie "Forrest Gump" on Netflix Instant View (which is a requirement for this class indicated in the syllabus) and follow the directions below. Please read all the prompts below before getting started.1. Choose a scene from the film and discuss Psychological Noise and Environment (backgrounds of the characters) as they pertain to the Transactional Model of Communication. How do the two concepts interrelate in this scene? Please make sure to indicate the scene, what you assume to be the psychological noise experienced by the character(s), and how the environment (background) plays a role. 2. Choose a scene from the film that illustrates how self concept and/or identity management influences the communication between two or more characters. Explain by indicating the specific scene, the characters and what concept is influencing the communication in the scene. 3. From the movie, identify and explain both an example of stereotyping and an example of one of the "Common Tendencies of Perception" in chapter 3 of our text.4. Choose an emotional scene from the film and refer to one or more of the "Influences on Emotional Expression" in chapter 4 of our text to explain the reaction of the character(s).5. Discuss your own emotional response to one of the scenes. Indicate the scene and explain your emotion(s) using the four components of emotions from chapter 4 of our text.6. Finally, what does this film teach you about competent communication? Make sure to refer to the characteristics of competent communication in chapter 1 of our text.Response: Respond to two of your classmates (who watched the same film as you) specifically pointing out something you learned from their discussion.
