Piano Lessons at Community Center

Fort Belvoir Community Center offers beginner and intermediate level piano lessons for

both adults and children. Classes cost $85.00 per month and appointments are offered on

Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays all year round. To set up an instruction appointment,

Keep it Moving …Take a Hike!

If you enjoying walking or hiking, join the ODR Trailblazers Hiking Interest Group. Plan

your winter hiking now!

Jan 26: Shenandoah, VA

Feb 26: Manassas Battlefield, VA

There is no fee to join the group but there is a $10 fee per hike to cover transportation

costs. Advance hike pre-paid cards are available for up to 10 hikes. For more information

Registration begins for 2013 Functional Training Sessions

Registration is open now for Military and for Civilians on December 17. January session

starts January 7 and goes to March 1. For more details or to register, please contact Graves

Introductory Archery Classes During the Holidays

Outdoor Recreation will not be holding Monday Night Introductory Archery class on

December 24 and December 31. For more information regarding the Outdoor Recreation

Registration begins for 2013 Archery Program

Registration opens on December 17 to sign up for the next 6 week session that begins in

January for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced archers. For more information please

Travel Camp Construction Area Safety

The new travel camp construction is underway between Johnson and Morrow Roads. These

roads will no longer intersect. Construction signs are posted. The pedestrian trail is

currently closed due to construction on the site. If you have questions about the

pedestrian walkway or the project, call 703-806-3940.

CYSS Community Outreach

Staff from Child, Youth & School Services will be offering enrichment activities at the

housing community centers & the Fort Belvoir Community Center. All activities are free.

Reservations for the BOSS Car Lot are not available throughout the month of December.

New Classes at Frame Shop

The new 7-session Basic Stained Glass class starts Thursday, January 10, from 6:30 to 9

p.m. The cost is $100 plus supplies. The Frame Shop is also offering a Basic Framing Class

on Saturday, January 19, from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost for this class is $65 and includes all

materials. For more information or to register for either class, please call the Frame Shop

Dueling Pianos

The Community Center hosts the popular Dueling Pianos – an all-request comedy piano

show, on Saturday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. Advanced tickets are $7; at the door $10. For

Wood Shop Classes

Wood Shop at Kawamura Arts and Craft Center is offering a variety of great classes. Safety

classes in January are on Wednesday, January 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 12

and 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. Also, offered is a Bowl Turning class on January 16 from 6 to 9
