Leaders are Goal-settersLeaders are Goal-setters

Yale University study from 1953 to 1973, 3% who had set goals felt more fulfilled than 97% who did not have goals.

Few individuals ever define their goals.– 3% to 5% have goals at all;– Fewer than 1% have written goals.

Fear of FailureFear of Failure

Failure is an inexpendable prerequisite of success. – Thomas Edison’s story

17,000 experiments were made to create the plant from which natural latex was derived.

– Napoleon Hill “Encyclopedia of Success” Success...just one step beyond failure.

We must understand and embrace failure as a pre-cursor to success and learn from it!

Goals and ChangeGoals and Change

Goals help us to handle change– We cannot stay the same and grow!

We all have a natural tendency to stay in our “comfort zone”– Must step out into “risk zone”

Must be willing to sacrifice– Hunt, “Set goals, determine their price and then

pay for it!”
