The intent of this program is to provide individuals in the local community of Fort Lauderdale, Florida with spaces allocated for visual interaction as well as facilitation of worldwide web resources at their fingertips.

Site Constraints:Project is situated within 2 irregular abutting rectan-gular lots in an urban residential downtown setting. Special consideration was taken to unite these two lots while providing both a continuous physical and visual connection. This irregular shaped lot provided the opportunity for multiple access points on the North and South sides.

Design Objectives:The primary design concerns were providing wire-less internet access throughout the building, along with social interaction as well as visual stimuli was integrated within a Florida vernacular design motive. Special attention was given in the design of areas that promote common circulation of multiple users both horizontally and vertically. Green roofs as well and connecting breezeways provide areas of retreat during extended hours of operation.

Water is introduced as a primary element to supply visual cohesiveness. Another primary element during the process stage that was kept was a continuous curving glass façade that ran parallel to the waters edge. Both elements emphasize the continuous con-nection the user is allocated during his/her experi-ence throughout the space.

Various openings within the floor plates provide light to filter its way to the floors below therefore re-emphasizing the vernacular design intent.Roofs are composed of simple slabs that respect the sites geometry along with complementing the simple forms of the building.
