It’s nice to take a break from the day-to-day stress of work and enjoy your col-leagues. Faculty, staff, and their extended families met at the north end of the foot-ball field before the game on October 4th to relax and en-joy their co-workers outside of the classroom and busy hallways. Food and fellow-ship was enjoyed by all who attended the tailgate party. The make things even better, the Fort Meade Fighting Miners won 38 - 0 against Avon Park.

Broadway Show!

Way to go Lady Miners!

District Champs!

The Fort Meade Chorus De-partment is thriving. Having jut completed their first big performance of the year: BROADWAY SHOW, the 3 chorus ensembles are now gearing up for a very busy Holiday Season. BROADWAY SHOW was an 18-musical show-choir showcase, com-plete with singing, dancing, and stage production. Students performed group numbers as well as solos, and gave a shin-ing example of how Broadway looks today. Looking forward, Chamber Singers have passed auditions to sing at not only the season opening game of the Lakeland Magic, but at Disney World for Epcot’s Candlelight Processional.

The Lakeland Magic game is 11/16 at 7pm. For every ticket sold, the Lakeland Magic will donate $5 to the chorus program. All of the fundraising is a continued effort for their trip to New York City this Spring Break, where they will perform at the Historic Carnegie Hall!

8 • Coach of the Week • September 2019

Congratulations to Coach Jemalle Cornelius on being selected High School Coach of the week! Our football program will receive a $2000 grant from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.

Not only did Coach Cornelius win Coach of the week this week but he also coached the Dixie Youth Baseball 2019 O-Zone team to the World Series and brought home the Championship. This is a memory that will stay with those young men the rest of their life.
