TRANSCRIPT

We were extremely busy; it felt like we spoke to all 13,770 visitors! We spoke to over 1,500 people & the quality & calibre of them was excellent.

Rob Farace, Resourcing Programmes Manager, Cancer Research UK

Investing in this event has paid for itself several times over. We recruited at least 30 members of staff as a result.

Alan Jones, Head of HR, East Thames

The RSPB has changed so much that we’re always keen to exploit opportunities to raise awareness of what we do and hopefully recruit some volunteers along the way. forum3 is a great platform on which to do this as it attracts such a diverse mix of people.

Sheila SamuelsRSPB

It’s a very good event. Saturday particularly has been hectic. There’s been lots of interest and enthusiasm for international development and the visitors have had a wide range of experience and varied backgroundswhich is good for us.

Nick Adlington, VSO

forum3 is the UK’s flagship recruitment and branding event for the third sector

forum3 attracted over 10,000 people in September 2010

Venue - The Business Design Centre Islington

What is forum3?• It’s a 2 day recruitment, careers and volunteering event for the Third sector,

on 25/26 May 2012 at the Business Design Centre in Islington

• It’s a place where people can be inspired by the Third Sector, and motivated to get involved, develop their job hunting skills and sharpen up their career ambitions

• It’s also a place where you can promote your organisation as a great place to support, work and volunteer

• And a place where you can look closely at how your competitors recruit, and build new networks

The exhibition floor

Why is forum3 needed?

• Most people can name less than 20 charities, despite 167,000 choices

• The large brands struggle to recruit staff who understand their mission and vision

• Smaller brands struggle for recognition

• The multiplicity of recruitment channels now available creates uncertainty in your recruitment expenditure and ROI

• Recruiting trustees and other volunteers is often parochial and ineffective

• The recruitment and management of volunteers is becoming more complex and time consuming

The recent NCVO Foresight report highlighted….

• A greater need to tailor volunteering opportunities to fit with people’s busy lifestyles and changing expectations

• A difficulty in recruiting and retaining volunteers for longer term roles

• Challenges in matching increasing demand with actual volunteering opportunities

Where are the volunteers?

How can you benefit from forum3? • Embed the event within your annual recruitment plan – alongside social

media, professional media, jobs boards and agencies

• Use the event to build a pool of available volunteers, trustees and staff

• Develop a communications strategy before, at and after the event

• Use the website to build your profile and recruit – from today

What should you expect to achieve?

• Contact with hundreds of job seekers, volunteers and supporters

• Raised awareness and profile of your employer brand amongst a relevant, targeted and diverse audience

• Collaboration with new corporate partners through The Bridge

• Reduced direct recruitment costs in the year ahead

• Increased traffic to your recruitment pages
