The Cattle

• Knowing that we have 14,000 acres, we looked up how many cows we

could have on our ranch. On Yahoo answers it said that you could have one cow to every 1-2 acres of land. Which means that we could have a 7,000 to 14,000 head of cattle. We

have chosen Angus because they are the easiest to farm and they are the

The Employment

• Since the farm land is so big we have hired five security guards, two

veterinarians, and 7 work hands for every day work and the odd jobs that

need to get done.

Natural Factors

• There are many earthquakes in California which could ruin the land.• It can get very hot in California, so the ground may turn hard during hot

summer days.

Going Organic?• Our farm will be %100 organic, we

will only use organic feed for all of our animals. We have chosen to go organic because we believe that our products will be accepted by a wider

market, and that means we will receive more profit.

How will our farm affect the Environment?

• We have had to clear out some trees for roads, barns, and other buildings. But we have also given back to the environment by planting a tree for every one we knock down. We will

also turn as much as possible of the manure our cows produce into

fertilizer that we either use or sell for even more profit.

Amount of Produce

• Based the information we found on WikiHow (1) we can have 1 bull to every 25 cows. Which means we will have 560 bulls and 13440 cows.

And since the number of cows one mature bull can impregnate is larger than the number of cows designated to that bull (2), that means

that more than likely, all 13440 of our cows will have a calf in the spring.

Amount of Produce Cont.

• Looking around the internet for prices of angus calves, we found that they can go for

anywhere from $500 to $1000. Which means that we could earn anywhere from $6,072,000

all the way to $13,440,000 a year.

The Soil• Since our farm is a totally green farm

we have some of the most natural soil in North America.

• We don’t use any sprays or chemicals on our land.

• We do spread all natural manure on our land for a natural fertilizer

The Business Plan • Our business plan is for the first year we want

to cell half of our cows making a gross sale of seven million dollars.

• Each year we want our sales to go up about five percent.

• We want to have paid off all our debt in about 15 years.

• We also want to increase the value of the property by five percent each year.

Crop Insurance • According to (1) the cost of one

animal (including transportation and insurance) amounts to almost $30,000. Which means that we would be spending $420 million on our cows! Now, we’re dumb, but we’re not THAT dumb. So we bought our own mode of transportation for our cows, and decided not to insure them.
