Gaziantep city is Ayıntab-I Cihan according to expression of great traveler Evliya çelebi. Light, pupil of the eye of World’s cities …

Our city which is a unique civilization basin extending from Mediterranean area to Mesopotamia is a humanity heritage with its 10 thousand history and artifacts from Greek, Roman, Assyrian, Byzantium, Sassanian, Umayyad-Abbasid- Seljuks Ottoman artifacts.

Mosaic works with high artistic value which are located in Zeugma Ancient city are works of genius which will make artists of all ages jealous. Alexander the Great, Menad or Daughter of Gypsy according to some people… That bright eye which can not be foreseen that whom it belongs to; like eye of Gaziantep… Nice and crystal like Gaziantep…

Our city which was founded at western bank of Euphrates, was honored with Islam during Caliphate period of Hz Omer and became Islamic land. It carries the banner of tolerance, brotherhood and living together approximately since one millennium.

Recently which is one of most important cities in Turkey continues to rise at hands of people who ware committed to city with love together with their entrepreneurs, productivity and high trade capacity.

Our fertile lands, historical and natural wealth, broad dining tables are full of artifacts of brotherhood climate...

Büyük Seyyah Evliya Çelebi’nin ifadesiyle Gaziantep, Şehri Ayıntab-ı Cihandır. Dünya şehirlerinin ışığı, göz bebeği…

Akdeniz ve Mezopotamya arasında uzanan eşsiz bir medeniyet havzası olan şehrimiz; binlerce yıllık tarihi; Yunan, Roma, Asur, Hitit, Bizans, Sasani, Emevi-Abbasi, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı eserleriyle insanlık mirasıdır.

Zeugma Antik Kenti’nde bulunan sanat değeri yüksek mozaikler, tüm zamanların sanatçılarını kıskandıracak bir dehanın eseridir. Kimine göre Büyük İskender, Menad ya da Çingene kızı... Kim olduğu kestirilemeyen o aydınlık göz; Gaziantep’in gözleri gibi... Gaziantep gibi billur ve güzel...

Büyük İskender’in ünlü komutanlarından I. Selevkos Nicator tarafından M.Ö 300’de ‘’Selevkia Euphrates’’ adıyla kurduğu Zeugma Antik Kentinden çıkan eserler göz kamaştırır. Zeugma Mozaik Müzesi; dünyanın en önemli müzelerinden biridir.

Artifacts which were revealed in Zeugma Ancient city which was founded by famous commander of Alexander the Great I Selevkos Nicator in BC 300 under title of ‘’Selevkia Euphrates’ bedazzles. Zeugma mosaic museum is one of most important museums in the world.

İlk beyran dükkanı 1885 yılında çarşı içinde açılmıştır. Beyran et ve pirinçten yapılır. Kısık ateşte 15 saat pişirilen et, bakır sahanlarda tekrar işlenerek ideal lezzetine ulaşır. Gaziantep adına coğrafi işaret almış olan beyran, Gaziantep’e patentlidir.

First beyran store was opened within market in 1885. Beyran is made of meat and rice. It is processed in low heat in copper plate and achieves ideal taste. Beyran which had geographical indication has Gaziantep patent.

Gaziantep Hayvanat Bahçesi dünyada en büyük üç hayvanat bahçesinden biridir. Türkiye’nin ise en büyüğüdür. Lama’dan kaplana, aslandan kuğulara kadar 350 türden 7 binin üzerinde hayvan yaşıyor. Bir milyon metrekare arazi üzerinde kurulan hayvanat bahçesi, Türkiye’nin ilk safari parkına da ev sahipliği yapıyor.

Gaziantep zoo is present within rst three ranks in the world. It has more than 7 thousand animals in350 kinds from llama to tiger to swans. Zoo garden which was found over I million square meter land hosts rst safari park in Turkey.

Gaziantep mutfağında tatlı ve kebaplarıyla birlikte 500‘ün üzerinde yemek çeşidi bulunuyor. Her gün bir çeşit tadan biri, ancak bir buçuk yıl sonra aynı yemeği ikinci kez tadabilir.

There are more than 500 kinds of meals together with deserts and kebabs in Gaziantep cuisine. One tasting one of tastes each day can taste same meal after one and half year.

Henüz 13 yaşında olan Mehmet Kamil, annesini düşman askerlerinden korurken süngülenerek şehit edildi. Kurtuluşun ölümsüz onur sembollerinden birine dönüştü.

Mehmet Kamil who was just 13 years old was martyred by bayonet of enemy soldiers while was protecting his mother from enemies. He became one of immortal honor symbols of independence .

Binbir emekle yetiştirilen buğday, yine binbir emekle işlenerek bulgura dönüştürülür. Bulgur, Gaziantep yemek kültürünün başköşesinde her zaman yer bulmuştur. Şehirde 150’ye yakın yemekte bulgur kullanılır.

Wheat which grown with various effort is transformed into bulgur after processing. It always had place in seat of honor of Gaziantep’s cuisine culture. Bulgur is used in approximately in 150 meals in city.

Tarihi geçmişi tam olarak bilinmeyen kale civarında “Teban” adında küçük bir kent bulunuyordu. Bu şehrin izleri yaşamaya devam ediyor.

Even though exact construction date of castle is unknown, its history dates on up to 6000 years before. There was little city called Teban between 1st and 2nd century BC. Still it is possible to see traces of archaic city.

Şahinbey whose original name was Mehmet Sait has resisted against invaders together with his a few militia forces by its bayonet and martyred in Almalı bridge. His name survives in Veteran City- Gazi Şehir.
