President’s MessageDear Friends,

Looking back at this school year I am deeply touched by the generosity of the Bloomington community. The support of our donors and volunteers creates educational experiences that impact the academic success of our students.

This year the Foundation infused $192,000 into educational programs and resources that will engage and inspire student learning. This funding made significant investments in many academic areas including, literacy, science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), arts, and wellness. As you read about our teacher grants, community partnerships, and fundraisers you will see how the Foundation is transforming lives for the students of the Monroe County Community School Corporation.

Specific highlights include:

• Teacher grants totaling $27,300 to 37 educators

• Literacy programs and projects totaling $102,400

• STEM Projects totaling $31,500 to enhance curriculum and dual credit courses

• Artful Learning at Fairview Elementary School totaling $15,500

• Scholarships and Awards totaling $14,700 and benefitting 39 students.

Fore Kids Scramble raised $31,200 to support educational programs. Fun prizes, good food, and friendly competition made

this event a big success for sponsors,players, and the kids!

In 2015, all the teams were our guests as the Bee celebrated Sounds of South’s

musical “Beauty and the Beast! Our emcees played along with John Whikehart as Gaston

and Bruce Calloway as The Beast!

Place Winners the FMCCS Spellcasters!

FMCCS continued the early childhood literacy program Real Men Read with community partners the Wahl Charitable Trust and the Riley Children’s Foundation. Through the program MENtors read with all kindergarten children and more than 4,000 books are given to the students to take home.
