SAINT THERESA OF CALCUTTA’S
“ANYWAY PRAYER”
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of
selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build it anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them
anyway.

NEW CHURCH UPDATE Father and representatives of the Building Committee met with
the Diocesan Building and Renovation Committee (BARC) a week ago Thursday to consider our conceptual design.
In summary, they liked the concept, asked for more specific drawings, and asked us to look at some additional factors,
namely handicap accessibility, line-of-sight hindrance, and increased use of brick.
They had no misgivings about our financial plan. As it appears now, we will have to return to the BARC for final approval for construction.
FROM THE OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS Ray Honeycutt, Superintendent of the Diocese of
Richmond’s Office of Catholic Schools since February resign his position effective June 30, 2019. Mr. Honeycutt
joined the diocese in 2009 as principal od ST. Bridget Catholic School, Richmond. In 2015 accepted the position of associate
superintendent for Diocesan Catholic Schools and was appointed interim superintendent in 2016.
SAINT NOA In response to a question about our school project, the school
was named for Noa Mawaggali, one of Uganda’s original 22 martyrs, condemned and murdered for his Christian beliefs.
REGRETS With regret, we announced the death of parishioner
Nennie Lennon, who died last Sunday from brain cancer. Nennie was introduced to COV by Peg
Meushaw, and she joined us in 2012 after the death of her husband. Nennie’s Mass of Resurrection was
celebrated last Thursday. Our prayers are with the family.
We’d like to thank Barbara Bernhardt for the beautiful Advent
table runner on the Welcome table. It’s a work of art.
The office will be closed next Wednesday and reopen on Thursday for normal hours.
CHRISTMAS SING-A-LONG
Please join our choir in a Christmas Music Sing-a-long on Christmas Eve starting at 6:30pm, a half hour before our evening
Mass. Here is your chance to sing those Christmas favorites we all cherish and a few more. A melodious and charming voice are not
pre-requisites; just a willingness to sing.
ANGEL TREE
In the spirit of joy this Christmas season, thank you to all who so generously sponsored a child in
our Angel Tree program. The past 10 years has been a rewarding experience to witness and participate
in your joy of making these children have a very special Christmas day. Our parish is blessed to
have the heartwarming and continued support of so many who give joy so graciously. Lynne Dreelin

and make a substantial gift to the parish. A good steward uses his or her assets in a way that does the most good.
