hacerlo sacramentalmente,
ven al menos espiritualmente
a mi corazón.
Amen.
A CALL TO HOLINESS
BY POPE FRANCIS.
167. The gift of discernment has become all the more
necessary today, since contemporary life offers immense
possibilities for action and distraction, and the world
presents all of them as valid and good. All of us, but
especially the young, are immersed in a culture of
zapping. We can navigate simultaneously on two or more
screens and interact at the same time with two or three
virtual scenarios. Without the wisdom of discernment, we
can easily become prey to every passing trend.
168. This is all the more important when some novelty
presents itself in our lives. Then we have to decide
whether it is new wine brought by God or an illusion
created by the spirit of this world or the spirit of the devil.
At other times, the opposite can happen, when the forces
of evil induce us not to change, to leave things as they
are, to opt for a rigid resistance to change. Yet that would
be to block the working of the Spirit. We are free, with
the freedom of Christ. Still, he asks us to examine what is
within us – our desires, anxieties, fears and questions –
and what takes place all around us – “the signs of the
times” – and thus to recognize the paths that lead to
complete freedom. “Test everything; hold fast to what is
good” (1 Thess 5:21).
UN LLAMADO A LA SANTIDAD
DEL PAPA FRANCISCO.
Next week May 16-24, the global Catholic community will celebrate the fifth anniversary
of Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical letter, Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common
Home, through prayer, education, and online activities. The nine day celebration, with
the theme “Everything is Connected” is sponsored by the Vatican’s Dicastery for
Promoting Integral Human Development and led by a cohort of Catholic partners.
To help you participate and join in activities, we have created a special Laudato Si’ Week 2020 webpage where you will find a variety of events, activities, and resources.
Be sure to check out:
The Global Day of Prayer on Sunday, May 24th (noon your time,) part of the core Laudato Si’ Week activities from the Vatican.
Hope for Creation initiative and its related Climate Action 2020 Pledge (for ideas go here)
Additional Laudato Si’ Week Activities sponsored by Catholic Climate Covenant partners

Prayer cards, bulletin inserts, and daily reflections from The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) (available in English and Spanish)
Laudato Si’ offers a vision for building a more just and sustainable world. The lessons of
the encyclical can provide a path forward as societies emerge from the coronavirus
pandemic, which has brought many parts of the world to a halt. Catholic Climate
Covenant and its national Catholic partners invite everyone to participate in this global
initiative and use the teachings of Laudato Si’ to guide our actions as
we struggle, grow, and transform through this crisis together.

Climate Covenant
• Programa educativo "Earth Day at 50/Laudato Si’ at 5: An Urgent Appeal for Action”Día

Católicos de los Estados Unidos The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
