The Business Partnering FP&A organization: Uncap What’s Inside

With rapid changes in the economic environment, everyone expects more from finance functions: more timely analysis and better decision support while continue to bear responsibility for core finance activities. CFO’s have called upon their FP&A teams to become “business partners”: to move away from transactional and historically focused activities towards more analytical and forward looking activities that help drive better business outcome. How can FP&A team achieve this transformation? How to streamline core finance processes to be able to spend more time on analysis and decision support? How will FP&A become this business partner an take an active part in strategic and performance-enhancement initiatives.

Raphael FuchsDirector, Global FP&ANewell Rubbermaid

The FP&A Summit for Consumer Packaged Goods brings the leadership and innovators from the industry together for a summit acclaimed for its insight into the forecasting and planning process.

Finance Execs in 2013 who are looking to develop a systematic approach to link strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts can't afford to miss this summit and hear how to generate granular analyses of profitability drivers, plan around capital needs and produce ROI analyses (e.g. for IT projects)

For many firms, the key is to become what’s called an “analytic competitor”— a business that is fast, flexible, and precise when it must reallocate resources in line with changing patterns of demand, cost, and opportunity. For the FP&A team, this requires the ability to access, collect, and analyze both financial data and forward-looking non-financial measures such as trends in customer demand or commodity prices.

Negotiating an Effective Financial Plan

What’s an effective Financial Plan? Whether your company is large or small, many effective planning elements are the same. We’ll discuss key aspects of the process, and explore a case study of the added complexities involved with divisional budgeting in a $5.0 billion corporation. Is pleasing Wall Street and your own CEO your number 1 responsibility, an irresponsible long-term strategy, or something in between? We’ll discuss creating appropriately aggressive divisional plans without succumbing to overly ambitious profit goals.
