Thermo Meter –Set Up • Two Point Calibration on Air and Water • DAC codes are used to Calibrate• Two different procedures to calibrate In-line and Blender. Procedures

are two pages long and contain cal- points for different size Iron.• Simulate 4 MA- Exit Set Up, Press 8, down Arrow. Right arrow to

accept• Simulate 20 Ma- Exit Set Up, Press 5, down arrow. Right arrow to

accept.• Clear Simulation- Exit Set Up, press 9, down arrow, right arrow to

accept.• Calibrate on Base Fluid- Exit Set Up, press 121, down arrow, right

arrow to accept. Take 120 seconds to cal.

Record The Results of Thermo Calibration So You Can Recover Meter

• SGDO MEMORY LOSS RECOVERY PROCEDURE

• MUST HAVE LAST CALIBRATION RECORDED: WATER STANDARDIZATION VALUE AND SLOPE CORRECTION VALUE

• 1. Erase memory by doing a “74” command. (“Exit Setup”, “74”, ↓ , → , → )• 2. Input oilfield setup. (“Exit Setup”, “1016”, ↓ , → , → )• 3. Input pipe ID. (“Exit Setup”, “048003”, ↓ , “??.??”, ↓ , “Exit Setup”)• 4. Run Standardization cycle. (“Exit Setup”, “121”, ↓ , → ) (Ignore what is in the pipe)• 5. This was done to set command “flags” in memory.• 6. Input the “water” value recorded during the last calibration.• 7. “Exit Setup”, “128003”, ↓ , “?.???E?”, ↓ , “Exit Setup”• 8. Input the “slope correction“ value recorded from the last calibration.• 9. “Exit Setup”, “049003”, ↓ , “?.???”, ↓ , “Exit Setup”• The Meter Should be Restored to last Calibration. So Easy a Green Hat Can Do it. lol

Test Density System with Frac Slurry or Cement

• Fracturing Chemicals • Water • Biocides • Clay Control • Polymers • pH Control • Fluid Loss Additives • Conductivity Enhancers • Gel Stabilizers • Gel Breakers • Surfactants • Crosslinkers

Page 13: Frac Density Meter Calibration

Frac Slurries Mixture• Gel Mixture:• Buffer- weak acid• Crosslinker- increases viscosity• Beryllium• Guar- Gelling Agent• Breaker: Oxides, Acids, Enzymes, Breaks gel down in about 30 minutes• Potassium Chloride• Sand- 20/40 specific gravity 2.65• Water PH 7 or 8• Make sure sand is suspended in mixture- does not fall out

• Slick Water:• Carbopol 940- High viscosity clear gel- Hair Gels• Ethylene Glycol• Caustic soda• Water PH 7 or 8• Sand-20/40 specific gravity 2.65

Measure Density of Your Mixtures

Page 15: Frac Density Meter Calibration

Densometer Testing/ Calibration

• Mix five gallon mixtures of slurry using different Densities.

• Measure Density of Mixtures with AccuPYC 1340.• Pour Mixture in densometer and shut in. Add

100 to 150 psi of pressure using a compressor.• Take and average of five meter readings and

compare to know Density(AccuPYC). Can also use this process to calibrate a densometer.
