A fraction is a number that names an equal part of a

whole.

• numerator (numerador)

• denominator (denominador)

• equivalent fraction (fracción equivalente)

The denominator is the number below the bar in a

fraction. It tells the total number of equal parts.

The numerator is the number above the bar in a fraction. It tells how many of the equal parts of the whole or group are being considered.
