Dear parents and caregivers, Welcome back to Term 1, 2018! We have planned an exciting year ahead. We would like to extend a very special welcome to all of our new students and their families. We are pleased to report all students are settling in well to their new school. We have a number of new teachers commencing in 2018. We would like to introduce Natalie Campbell (Teaching and Learning Support), Shalana Louise (Art, HASS and Science specialist teacher), Maria Naupay (Area E teacher) and Hazel Kelly (Area A teacher). All families will by now have received a welcome pack for 2018. We encourage families to read through the pack as it contains important information. Could we please ask that all forms from the pack are returned as soon as possible. We are highly committed to a collaborative approach to the education of our students at Burbridge School. Therapists, psychologists and medical practitioners contribute a wealth of knowledge and support to our school, students and families. We are very pleased that Janine Spiby (physiotherapist) will continue to support our teachers in implementing the MOVE Program (Movement Opportunities Via Education) this year. Sharon Jayabalan (psychologist) will also support our teachers in further developing positive behaviour support strategies and student behaviour support plans in 2018. We have been required to develop some new processes for students receiving therapy during school hours (see information in the Welcome Pack). However, we remain committed to the collaborative relationships we have with therapists and value their contribution to the lives and education of our students. There are a number of public holidays in Term 1. Please refer to the parent planner in this newsletter for this information. Please especially note that school will be closed on Easter Monday and Tuesday this year. This term is also an eleven week term instead of the usual ten week term. Thank you to all parents who have met with teachers to discuss educational goals for your child. We look forward to work- ing together in 2018 to achieve positive outcomes for all of our students. • Dear parents and caregivers,

Welcome back to Term 1, 2018! We have planned an exciting year ahead. We would like to extend a very special welcome

to all of our new students and their families. We are pleased to report all students are settling in well to their new school.

We have a number of new teachers commencing in 2018. We would like to introduce Natalie Campbell (Teaching and

Learning Support), Shalana Louise (Art, HASS and Science specialist teacher), Maria Naupay (Area E teacher) and Hazel

    Kelly (Area A teacher).

All families will by now have received a welcome pack for 2018. We encourage families to read through the pack as it

contains important information. Could we please ask that all forms from the pack are returned as soon as possible.

We are highly committed to a collaborative approach to the education of our students at Burbridge School. Therapists,

psychologists and medical practitioners contribute a wealth of knowledge and support to our school, students and

families. We are very pleased that Janine Spiby (physiotherapist) will continue to support our teachers in implementing the

MOVE Program (Movement Opportunities Via Education) this year. Sharon Jayabalan (psychologist) will also support our

teachers in further developing positive behaviour support strategies and student behaviour support plans in 2018. We

have been required to develop some new processes for students receiving therapy during school hours (see information

in the Welcome Pack). However, we remain committed to the collaborative relationships we have with therapists and

value their contribution to the lives and education of our students.

There are a number of public holidays in Term 1. Please refer to the parent planner in this newsletter for this information.

Please especially note that school will be closed on Easter Monday and Tuesday this year. This term is also an eleven week

term instead of the usual ten week term.

Thank you to all parents who have met with teachers to discuss educational goals for your child. We look forward to work-

ing together in 2018 to achieve positive outcomes for all of our students.
