Employment History Senior Research Fellow, International Food Policy Research Institute, since July 2014. My principle duty is to assist the director in oversight of the program including quality control, development of work and budget, annual reporting, planning of the annual social science conference and liaising with donors. I lead PIM’s efforts to track of outcomes and to implement studies to assess the impact of the program’s research investments, I also carve out some time for research of my own and am part of the Land Policy Initiative project. Additionally, I led one of PIM’s clusters up to 2016.

Senior Scientist, World Agroforestry Centre, 1995 to 2014. Over the many years, had different roles but the last two were to lead a research theme on agroforestry and land management “Land and People” and then leading ICRAFs impact office. I also led the development and helped to coordinate several of ICRAFs largest grants in my later years. Main research areas at ICRAF were on the economics of agroforestry practices, constraints to adoption of agroforestry and other land management practices, with particular attention to property rights, and the impacts of natural resource management practices. Project Leader, Land Tenure Center, University of Wisconsin, 1992-1994. Led a study on the role of land and tree tenure on agroforestry practices in Uganda, Burundi, Zambia, and Malawi. Economic Consultant, World Bank, Washington, DC, 1988-1991. Led the data analysis and reporting on a study of the relationships between land tenure security, investment in land improvements, and agricultural productivity in Ghana, Kenya, and Rwanda. Instructor, American University at Les Cayes, Haiti, 1988. Taught an intensive summer course on economic development as a volunteer at this newly established school in Haiti. Instructor, Business School, Husson College, Maine, 1987-1988. Taught finance and personal investment on part-time basis while finishing up my dissertation.
