Monday 19 October 2015 Edition 33 Week 3 Term 4

Today we celebrated Grandparents Day and what a

celebration it was. We were entertained by 1-2C singing

the ‘Bean Bag Rock’ which began the show with the cute

factor.

This was followed by a moving performance of ‘Lanterns’

by Birds of Tokyo from some students in 5G.

Our school choir then

completed the mini - concert

with a couple of the songs they

will sing next week in Sydney

at the Opera House, ‘Danny

Boy’ and “Putting on the Ritz”

Mrs Argaet lead us in a sing-

along.

We then enjoyed a wonderful

morning tea on our spacious

playground. Family is so important and I certainly believe it

“Takes a village to raise a child”. Our world is constantly

changing and challenging us so that the more support we

have, the more opportunities we also have. Keeping this in

mind the quality education we provide for children today

will impact on the quality of their future.

Thank you to all of those grandparents, parents and family

friends who joined us this morning.

As a school community we are really concerned about your child’s safety entering and exiting our

school grounds.

If your child rides a bike or scooter to school they are required to wear a bike helmet. If your child is under 8 years of age they need to be

escorted to school on their bike or scooter by an adult.

Franklin School has invited our Road and Traffic Educator, Mrs Jenny Heinjuis to visit in the near future to work with staff and students to ensure

we enter and exit our school safely.

During last week correspondance was sent to the Road and Maritime Services, once again

requesting a crossing supervisor.

Let’s all be responsible with our students and deliver them to school safely and collect them

responsibly.

SKOOLBAG APP

Have you got the Franklin Skoolbag App on your

smart phone YET?

At this moment we have 256 people accessing

information about our school on the Franklin

Skoolbag App.

This keeps you up to date with school information.

You are able to send in alerts if your child is not

attending school on a particular day.

We keep you informed of what is happening in our

school.

This week you have been notified on skoolbag,

that we will be holding an Evacuation Drill one day

this week. This is part our OHS requirements and

is held every 6 months.

Last week it was great to see Year 5’s cooking and

sewing groups showcased on the app.
