Hispanic Heritage Month Mini-Project Nombre: ____________________ Clase: _________________________ Every year, from September 15 th to October 15 th , Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated. Hispanic Heritage Month , whose roots go back to 1968, begins each year on September 15, the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico, Chile and Belize also celebrate their independence days during this period and Columbus Day (Día de la Raza) is October 12. In honor of the Hispanic Heritage month, you will be responsible for researching and learning about a famous Hispanic person of your choice. Students may research lawmakers, world leaders, scientists, inventors, entertainers, athletes, etc. The project will be completed in Google slides and shared with Señorita Sanabria using [email protected] . Students will be able to start their projects in class but will be responsible for completing the remainder of the project on their own. Your research will need to include the following: 1) Images of the person you are researching. 2) Biography 3) Image of the flag and location of the Hispanic country the person is from. 4) FIVE interesting facts about this country. 5) Why is this person famous/important? This mini project will be graded using the following rubric: A 89-100 B 88-79 C 78-68 D 67-0 Student has all parts of project. Project has accurate information. Project is well put together. Student is missing 2-3 parts of the project. There are a couple of mistakes and/or information. Student is missing 4-5 parts of the project. There are a more than a few mistakes and/or information.
