DAY 5 – Koblenz / Rüdesheim, GermanyAs the ship docks in Koblenz, there is achoice of two activities. Explore Koblenz ona walking tour with a local guide and see thishistoric city which straddles two of Europe’smost beautiful rivers. In the old part of thecity, the Christmas Market consists of glitter-

ing, festive, cottage-style stands andLebkuchenherzen (traditional gingerbreadhearts) to create a magical European Christ-mas experience. OR, travel by coach toCochem and discover a true medieval gemresting on the banks of the Mosel River. Feelas if you’ve stepped straight into a fairytale asyou have a guided tour through town thatculminates with a visit to the iconic 19th-century Reichsburg Castle. The ship departsKoblenz early afternoon for Rüdesheim andarrives this evening for an overnight in port.This afternoon, enjoy a landscape of castlesand quaint towns as you cruise through theRhine Gorge. DAY 6 – Rüdesheim, Germany‘All aboard’ as mini-trains meet near the shipand take you to Siegfried’s MusikkabinettMuseum for a guided visit. Afterwards,enjoy free time in this quaint town to strollthrough the picturesque lanes and along thefamous Drosselgasse before re-boarding thetrains for the return to the ship. During yourfree time, wander through the ChristmasMarket and search for the perfect gifts. DAY 7 – Mannheim / Rastatt, GermanyAwaken this morning in the town ofMannheim, departure point for the day’s ac-tivities. Your free choice activities include avisit to Heidelberg, with two options: visit-ing the castle and a walking tour, OR, awalking tour of the city with a tasting of

local specialties such as their liqueur and thefamous ‘student kiss’ chocolate. As your finalport in Germany, don’t miss out on shoppingfor unique treasures at the Christmas Marketin Heidelberg. During the excursion, theship sails to Germershiem where you re-em-bark. This evening, arrive in Rastatt andenjoy a special treat as you attend a live con-cert in the baroque Rastatt Palace. DAY 8 – Strasbourg, FranceWith a morning arrival in Kehl, travel bycoach across the river to Strasbourg, France,where a local guide leads you on an includedwalking tour through this picturesque town.Stroll through the charming Old Quarter, ‘LaPetit France’, admire the half-timberedhouses and marvel at the gothic cathedral inthe city center. Enjoy free time to visit thestalls of Strasbourg’s Christkindelsmärik, oneof the largest in Europe, before returning tothe ship in Schonau.
