Welcome!Bloomhill Cancer Care Ltd is a Community Ltd is a Community Organisation in all aspects – created BY the Sunshine Coast Community FOR the Sunshine Coast Community - to provide care for local residents to help them live well with cancer to increase survivorship. We do not receive any government funding and is wholly dependent on fundraising events like this Charity Auction to keep us going.

Events like this Charity Auction provide a healthy injection of funds and allow the centre to continue supporting hundreds of clients and their families. Living with a diagnosis of cancer, coping and surviving the strenuous treatment regime is as taxing for the patient as it is for their loved ones, including in most cases young children having to deal with the unknown threat this illness of their mom or dad. We provide free counselling to clients and loved ones, and highly subsidised therapies in other domains, including return transport services often as far as Brisbane. During/after trips like these, we provide child minding services free of charge as well as a family meal so very often. Your contribution makes this happen!

Now an annual event, we are also excited this year to include the raffle of a sensational brand new Mercedes-Benz. The lucky winner will be drawn during this event. If you do not have a ticket, grab one of the lucky last while you can! You have to be in it to win it!

Our heartfelt thanks to the initiator of this event, Loren Wimhurst, the Owner and Founder of Next Property Group who is herself a cancer survivor. Loren knows all too well the important role Bloomhill plays and the amazing support that is offered to over 1200 clients.

Bloomhill Cancer Care supports people of all ages on the Sunshine Coast to live well with cancer. Bloomhill aims to enhance the quality of life for people affected by cancer by offering allied health support and evidence-based therapies at its centre in Ballinger Road, Buderim, surrounded by a beautiful rainforest backdrop.

A leading provider of integrated cancer care, servicing the Sunshine Coast, Bloomhill is known nationally for its innovative, best practice model of care and for its leadership and advocacy in the cancer care domain.

Bloomhill’s uniqueness is in its focus on holistic client-centred cancer care, recognising that dealing with cancer treatment, or living well beyond treatment is not just a physical endeavour.

Our model of care sees clients supported by specialist oncology nurses through individual case management which integrates a range of health and wellbeing services. Support, for both the person with cancer and their families, is available from the time of diagnosis, during treatment, into the survivorship phase, dealing with reoccurrence or during palliation.

Clients come to the centre on week days for appointments with nurses, nutrition and dietetics assessments, or for counselling support, oncology and remedial massage, manual lymphatic drainage, reflexology, acupuncture, meditation, yoga, Pilates, exercise therapy, occupational therapy and more. Sometimes they just want to meet friends on the beautiful café deck and enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Bloomhill also offers transport assistance, child minding, support groups, educational talks, workshops, a library and other services.

Bloomhill currently assists approximately 1200 clients annually, of whom 75% are people with cancer and 25% are carers, with many clients using our services for up to a four-year period.

With no ongoing operational funding from government, corporate or philanthropic sources, Bloomhill’s current operations are entirely self-funded. Around 80% of our funding is generated through our 11 Op Shops across the region and our management of the weekly Cotton Tree Markets. The remaining 20% is derived from fundraising events, corporate sponsors, bequests and donations.
