Gold surrenders gains as U.S. data lifts dollar

Copper edged to a new record high on Tuesday

Copper edged to a new record high on Tuesday, as a weaker dollar and the metal's

tight supply and robust demand fundamentals attracted fresh inflow from funds. Gold

rallied to its highest in a week on Tuesday, as a dip in the dollar ahead of a U.S. policy-

setting meeting and ongoing concern about the health of the global economy

encouraged investors to buy bullion.
