YouYouhankTThankI’m so glad you’ve found your way to the FREE TROVE OF TEACHING TREASURES - just another way of saying Free Resource Library. You know we early years teachers love

to put a fun spin on everything.

It’s so important to give young kids a love of learning; to have them want to be in your classroom each and every day.

This is not always an easy task!

I know what it’s like to try and teach children who are disengaged from the learning process; who aren’t working on their

assigned work. Kids who see everything as a chore meant to ruin their day or with some of my more dramatic kids

- their life!

I soon discovered that using games and interactive worksheets changed my kids’ opinions of school. My kids became

more engaged in the learning process, they enjoyed doing literacy and math centers AND were happy to be at school.

This is why I’m so excited to share all of my best teaching ideas and free resources

with you in my TUESDAY TEACHING TREASURES email. Of course, if you’d like

to check out my games and activities now just click on the TpT button to take you

to my store.

Matching fractions

For 2 - 4 players

Equipment

• a marker for each player

• 8 counters of the same colour for each player

• die (numbered 1 - 6)

• game board

Rules

1. Players place their marker on any monster around the outer game board. The position of the monster

wil l not determine the winner of the game.

2. The first player rolls the die and moves the appropriate amount of spaces. If the player lands on a

circle they must determine what fraction is shaded. If correct, the player then covers the answer in the

middle of the board with a counter. The aim is to get three in a row either horizontal ly, vertical ly or

diagonally. In games with two players, players should aim to get four in a row.

3. Players continue to move around the board when they have completed one circuit. The first player to

place three counters (or four) in a row is the winner.
