Creating the Foundation for a Mobile Platform

A critical component of Freeport LNG’s overall plan for the Plant was building an IT Infrastructure Foundation that allows for the acceptance and implementation of future devices and technology without compromising safety and quality. Having One Wireless Mesh provides

Freeport LNG with the ability to have complete Wifi Accessibility Across the Plant for all team members including contractors. Wifi is accessible from all devices at all times

Notification Process

StockProcess

A truck arrives, stock is unloaded

Someone scans the barcode, barcode …

There is a pump that is leaking. Someone sees the leaky pump, creates

a notification via mobile application

Work is completed

Time to complete work is captured in SAP

Procurement begins, and stock processing takes place

… automatically creates a goods receipt in SAP

Maintenance team creates Work Order and triggers in SAP

Work Order identifies what parts are required and where they are located

Worker gets required tool and part and heads to

worksite

Inspection is prompted and then completed within SAP

Key Points to Take Home

Build for the future. IT Infrastructure in place early is key to future success. Technicians should see the immediate advantage of having a wealth of information in

their hands. The business should benefit from more accurate, up-to-date information, allowing

decisions to be made quicker and more effectively with better cost control. Mobile Applications eliminate manual steps in the process of approvals and data

entry. Work instructions, technical drawings, manuals, maps, photographs are all accessible

from the application. Any faults/ issues can be captured immediately, reducing the risk and improving

quality of data.
