Nuclear Structure

• Importance – Exotic nuclei far from the valley of beta stability

– Nuclear astrophysics

• Development of many-body techniques for the nuclear shell model

• Close collaboration with several experiments:– CERN (Isolde), GSI (Germany), Lund (Sweden), NBI (Denmark),

Surrey (UK), etc.

• Studies of the thermodinamical properties of finite nuclei, collaboration with Oslo cyclotron laboratory

• Properties of dense matter

Freeze-out

• Describes the final stages of heavy-ion collisions:– all interaction cease in the systems

• Different theoretical models have been hired:– Kinetic models

– Field theoretical approach

• Express macroscopic measurables using the microscopic properties of the system

• Important issues:» Timelike, spacelike freeze-out surfaces

» Conservation laws

» Coooper-Frye formula

• Our models:» cut Juttner distribution

» idealized model with drain term

» freeze-out distribution with rescattering

» four volume emission model
