4-H and Hometown Pride Partnership Our county communities need 4-H’ers! Keep Iowa Beautiful (KIB) has partnered with Fremont County, the Fremont County Economic Development Corporation (FREDCO) and our 12 communities in a five-year program called Hometown Pride. The communities are Anderson, Bartlett, Farragut, Ham-burg, Imogene, McPaul, Percival, Randolph, Riverton, Sidney, Tabor and Thurman. The purpose of Hometown Pride is to enhance the economic and cultural vitality in the county by supporting, facilitating and implementing community and county plans in a coordinated effort. Doug Friedli, from neighboring Nebraska City, has been hired as Fremont County's Community Coach. "I am looking forward to work- ing with the citizens of Fremont County. The Hometown Pride program will provide long term technical and support assistance to the county and it's
communities to make their dreams become realities," aid Friedli. "
Community Coach, Doug Friedli, approached the Extension Office as a contact point for getting youth involved in com-munity committees across the county.
The goal is to have 4-H clubs appoint one youth member to each community’s Hometown Pride Committee within their enrollment area. Each 4-Her should then recruit 1-2 friends (they do not
have to be 4-H members) to serve with them on a town’s committee.
We are excited Fremont County Hometown Pride thought of 4-H’ers and their friends to join in the effort to enhance the quality of life and vitality to this great program!

you made a craft or other art work at school or church and you don’t know what to do with it?
What can you do next and make it a project? Ask Mandy or Susan at the office or your Club Leaders to help you
turn something you are already doing into a project for 2014 Fair!
HINT: Ask a question first!
Then investigate and research all the ways to answer the question.
Choose which answer you will use.
Finally, determine the project area the answer falls under! Remember—for ALL static exhibits shown at the County Fair, there must
be a write up completed. This is not to be judged, but used as a reference
