When Vic Caracci’s Great Grandfather came by bananaboat from Sicily to the United States, little did he knowthat a legacy that he created would continue on today inthe French Quarter.

When Vic’s family immigrated from Sicily, they settledstraight into New Orleans and worked as street vendors in the French Market selling a variety of fruits, vegetablesand many other things. Vic’s uncle and a friend camefrom Sicily and taught Vic & cousins how tto make their famous gelato. His Grandfather opened Papa Vics and con-tinued to master the art of making gelato. Since Vic was named after his Grandfather, itwas only natural when his dream to open his own place became a reality, Little Vic’swas born. Little Vic’s, a family owned & operated business, opened in 2010.

Vic has brought the taste and tradition of Sicily to New Orleans through the recipesand dishes that his Grandfather passed onto him as he taught him to cook. He hascreated the atmosphere of the Rosticceria that is typical of small delis and street vendors that would prepare their food daily in the morning and sell throughout the dayuntil it was gone. And on any given day you will find the aromas of the homemadebreads and sauces that will take you a walk back in time, along with the old familyphotos of generations past that adorn the walls.

Little Vic’s specializes in Pizza Focaccia, Sfogila and Pitoni which represents the traditional Sicilian street food along with Vic’s favorite, Arancini, which are filled andfried risotto balls. Everything is homemade and is prepared in house, including thebreads, sauces and pastries. They also offer a variety of fresh made salads, baked pastaspecials, sandwiches, pastries and of course their famous gelato. The family gelato making is carried on to this day by Vic and his cousin Frank, who he has been training since he was 14 years old.

Bringing the family tradition from Sicily .......... Enjoy it in the courtyard!
