FRESHERS WEEK - ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/14 BA Finance and BA Finance and Economics
Dear student, I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Hertfordshire Business School BA Finance and BA Finance and Economics pathway. I am your Pathway Tutor and am here to help and advise you during your studies with us. As well as introducing myself I am also writing to let you know about starting your studies with UHBS. Your studies will begin on Monday 23rd September 2013 at 11:00am in the Weston Auditorium at the de Havilland campus for your welcome talk. Please make sure you read your timetable for the first week’s activities, details of the pathway of study you will be undertaking as well as a list of useful contacts. These are available on this website. During this week you will have the chance to meet me and the pathway team and receive further information about your pathway of study. You will also receive information about completing your registration at the University and your timetable. This will also be a chance to meet other students on the pathway and familiarise yourself with the campus and the facilities here at UH. The first week of your studies has been designed to help maximise your learning while at the Business School. The sessions and activities within this week provide an important foundation which will help you achieve your maximum potential with us, and will help to ensure that you make a successful start to your studies. We want you to have fun too, so please get involved at every available opportunity! Please see the attached document about 'Team Match' you will need to complete this task before you join the University in September. If you have any questions that you need to ask me before you start, I will be available by email from 10th September. Please also take the time to visit the ‘SSG’ website where you will find a lot of information that you may find useful about the Business School. http://www.herts.ac.uk/apply/schools-‐of-‐study/business/about-‐the-‐school/student-‐support-‐at-‐the-‐business-‐school
I very much look forward to meeting you on the 23rd September. Dr Marion H. Storm Programme Tutor BA Finance BA Finance and Economics [email protected]
Team-‐Match
Team-‐Match
Team-‐Match is an innovative web application that connects students for collaborative learning and group work. Team-‐Match asks each participant to complete a short profile. We then use matchmaking technology to connect you with others based on your preferences.
How it works:
1) Go to www.team-‐match.com/herts and create a Team-‐Match Account. 2) Always access and login to Team-‐Match through www.team-‐
match.com/herts 3) Use your real name in the sign up process 4) On the dashboard click on “Start Indicator”. 5) Before you start the questionnaire, please make sure you have 15 -‐25 min
of uninterrupted time. Be honest in your answers, you are the only person who will see your results!
6) Once you have completed the questionnaire you can explore your Personality Profile
7) IMPORTANT: The final step of the process is to join your programme group on Team-‐Match. To do this, please select the correct Group ID from the list below and enter it in the participate box (GroupID) on the Team-‐Match dashboard (home) and click on Go.
8) That’s it, you’ve joined your programme group. DON’T click on the revoke button. Now all you need to do is to wait until we match you into a group.
