    GREENSLIPS?!?!

It might be a littleawkward for me to talk

about this topicconsidering how much Iget in trouble in chineseclass but in your freshmanyear, you should stay outof trouble. This is because

more trouble = moreworries = less fun. Youcant make the most out ofyour freshman year if youkeep getting in trouble.

You should avoid fightingwith other batchmates ast is one of the worsttroubles you can get into.

In class, avoidinggreenslips is a must. Youcant hang out or playsports if you havedetention. Teachers tendto be stricter as theyexpect a higher level ofmaturity as you age. I

suggest listening in classbut you can make noise, aslong as it is not too much.

In your Freshman Year, itmay take some time for you

to adjust but dont miss outon the committees. Itwouldnt hurt to apply toone or two of the manycommittees in High School.

I myself applied and wasucky enough to beaccepted to both the Adayand the VOYC committee.

Its truly a goodexperience to be a part ofa committee. You will getto hone your talents andyou may even discovermore and learn moreabout yourself.I, myself

learned that I have theability to do more than Ithought I actually could.

ASSESSMENTS TESTSEveryone wants to get an A+, buthow do you really do it?

Assessments in school dontreally hurt you, its the onesoutside the school that reallydoes. Sometimes, you sleep at3am doing all the work you can do

and expect to do the same thenext day. You tend to beinconsistent in the outputs ofyour work due to the crammed upschedule.

There was atime when wehad to cancelour soriee dueto our scienceproject whicheveryone hadto rush

    through duringthe weekend.

urrently (Feb. 25, 2012), we have around 4 other blogso do and 2 assessments the next day. In HS, its allbout managing your time because trust me, it can get

eally ugly. To do this, you must do assessments ahead ofime, always be one step ahead of the teacher or if not,he assessments will make your freshman year miserable.

In my Freshman Year, I met a lotof new friends, particularly those

seniors that would never stopgiving you advices as they sharestories of their High School life.If youre the shy type but thinksthat its time to get out of yourshell, then be a Freshman! As a

Freshman, Ive learned thateveryone can be your friend.Even the teachers themselves! Ayear to get along with everyone.

    MORE FRIENDS!

eing part of the High School Community, I was able to interact

ith the Batch 2013 once again. The last time I was in the sameepartment with the current Seniors was way back to Gr. 4, andhat was barely anything in terms of being friends with them. As areshman, I learned that although these Seniors may be yearsder than me, we still share the same jokes, the same ideas whichlow us to still get along. I personally am glad that I was able toeet a lot of new Senior friends this year through groups such asommittees as the will no lon er in be Xavier b next school ear.

    ONCE AGAIN...

started of my freshman year with a burst ofnfidence, I started it differently than other levels, was less focused on my studies. My start was all butod, as I quickly got crammed up with assessmentsd had little or no time for my friends. My brain wasickly rusted due to the demands of school works. I

xpected HS to be fun and cool and it soon becameat. I gained friends who were able to guide me in mysessments and soon it became contagious to theass. We were able to get third place in the sabayanggbigkas but performed like champions. I, togetherth my class were able to face the problems we hadarlessly. As my freshman year comes to an end, I

m looking forward to my sophomore year hoping tove a better start learning from my mistakes during

y freshman year, after all, its only theart. -Arlo

t the start of my Freshman Year, Ionestly wasnt confident about how myerformance as a Freshman would be. Iasnt sure if I was gonna be able toake new friends or new enemies. Buten, hearing from others that being a

reshman is awesome, I didnt lose hope

at this year could be extraordinary.oon enough, I was able to join 2mmittees, and being a Freshman

ecame so fun. Time passed and soon,y class earned the most during ourhool fair. Currently, I only have 8

ays left as Freshman, and I couldonestly say that it was one hell of ade. -Jian Chan

Throughout our Freshman Year, it isinevitable to face several strugglesand difficulties considering the factthat you would also need to adjust tothe High School life. It is alsopossible that your expectations maynot be what youd experience. But

then, despite all these, there are somuch to look forward to in yourFreshman year. You will be able tomeet new friends, discover newtalents, achieve more both individuallyand as a class or a committee. Afterall the sleepless nights that you mayhave, surely youd still look back andsay Lets do it again.
