• GREEN ONIONS Quebec green onion production is winding down and will end in about 10 days.

• CUCUMBERS EAST - Cucumber supplies are getting very tight in the eastern half of the country.WEST - Market on west coast cucumber is expected to remain steady

• BROCCOLI Market continues to react higher as supplies and yields are not keeping up with demand. Local Ontario broccoli is expected to wind down.

• POTATOES Markets are rising in all regions. Demand is active with limited production out of Idaho. Rain, snow, and freezing temperatures will curtail harvests.

• ONIONS Onion markets are steady to slightly lower as supplies and quality are good in all regions. Ontario red onions continue with good supply and quality.

• LIMESSupplies on the large sizes continue to be limited and expected to remain so for the remainder of the month. We’re seeing supplies on the small sizes in be in better shape and the markets have softened up.

• LETTUCESICEBERG - Demand continues to exceed supplies industry-wide and this will continue for the next two weeks minimum. Triggered pricing on value-added lettuce items are in play with all shippers.ROMAINE / LEAF - Demand exceeds supplies industry-wide. Yields continue to suffer industry-wide due to excessive warm temperatures in the growing regions. Supplies on green and red leaf are also now getting active, but not as extreme as romaine.SPRING MIX, SPINACH & BABY KALEThe baby leaf market continues to stay steady as supplies have adjusted back to normal. Overall quality is good with occasional yellowing and bruising of the tender leaves.ROCKET ARUGULA / WATERCRESSArugula supplies are very tight. Orders are being pro-rated. Expect to see tight supplies for the next two weeks. Baby red kale supplies are very good. Red watercress, is no longer being grown due to lack of interest.

• APPLESLight harvest on Pink Lady, Braeburn, Lady Alice, Jazz, Envy, and Granny Smith apples, which should keep most varieties at favorable price points.

• BRUSSELS SPROUTS The brussel sprouts market continues to stay steady. There is some internal decay. Ontario will run through November.

• CELERY Celery supplies are steady as demand picks up with fall promotions.

• CORNGeorgia has started with small amounts of volume available. Quality is very nice.

• AVOCADOSPeru season is done and future arrivals will be minimal. Chile is experiencing a drought and the harvest has been heavy to smaller sizes, reducing the overall volume available.

• GOLD PINEAPPLES Expect water spotting and low internal fruit condition. Due to the unstable weather, fruit will have a biological age change, which means slightly lower brix and lower production for this week and part of next week.

• MELONCANTALOUPES/ HONEYDEWS - Demand is strong and has outpaced the harvest. The current size curve is leaning towards large fruit (4/5/6ct). Small fruit will be limited.

• TOMATOES EAST - Overall volumes are light. Mature green supplies are limited, and sizing is on the small side due to the heat during the earlier phase of the growing cycle.WEST - Sizing and quality will vary by grower and production is expected to fade in the coming weeks wrapping up by the end of the month.

• STONE FRUITThe California stone fruit season is coming to an end. Peaches, nectarines and apricots are done for the season. We have red and black plums available currently. Sizes are mostly on the larger side (VF 50ct and larger).

= Local options available

• ASPARAGUSMarkets on both coasts are steady with good movement on all sizes.

• CAULIFLOWER The cauliflower market continues to be in a demand exceeds supply situation. Cauliflower is extremely scarce and all suppliers are seeing lower yields and even skipping a few days of harvest to size up the cauliflower.

• MANGOESWe were seeing smaller sizes at the start of the season but the sizing profile has changed and we are now seeing large fruit spread evenly on each manifest. Quality reports are showing good firm fruit with an excellent blush.

• PEARSPrices remain much higher on Anjou and Bosc vs. Bartlett’s. Red pears (Starkrimson) are coming into volume. The California Bartlett pear season is winding down with most shippers done for the season and some selling from storage inventory

• ** NEW ** LOBSTER MUSHROOM - From Oregon.• PORCINI - From BC.• YELLOWFOOT - From BC• SWEET TOOTH / HEDGEHOG - From BC• CAULIFLOWER - From BC• BLUE CLUSTER - From BC• CHANTERELLE - From BC• CHANTERELLE BUTTONS - From BC• BEARS TOOTH / LIONS MANE - From BC• PINE MUSHROOMS - From BC• BURGUNDY TRUFFLES - From Italy• WHITE TRUFFLES - From Italy

• EGGPLANT EAST - The season will go into the second week in November but shippers will be past the peak by the last week of October.WEST - All pack styles currently being packed.

• PEPPERS EAST - Most shippers are packing good volume of quality product.WEST - Supplies currently meet demand on Serranos. Jalapenos available from Mexico and California. Moderate supplies of green and red peppers.

• CITRUS - LEMONSCalifornia supplies of 140’s and larger continue to remain snug. Supplies on small sizes are improving weekly and the market is slightly softening up on those particular sizes.

• BEANSBean supplies are just fair as the recent cold weather has slowed growth. Yellow wax beans, may be tighter as we transition to imports. Snipped bean supplies are good.

• WATERMELON Supplies of seedless watermelons are still a little tight.

• ORANGES Valencia’s will start winding down in the next few weeks. 113s and 138s are limited. Small size Valencia demand continues to be strong and quality remains fair.

• BERRIES BLUEBERRIESExpect to see the cost rising as we continue to rely totally on imported blueberries for the fall/winter months.RASPBERRIESLook for this market to remain steady in the lower ranges due to the volume of harvest at this point in time.BLACKBERRIESWeather-related production and quality issues are keeping volumes lower but should correct by the end of this week or next weekSTRAWBERRIESLook for the market to continue to be steady although the weekend into the weekend with demand good.

• ZUCCHINI EAST - Zucchini supplies are bouncing back after shippers have had light supplies for the past 2 weeks.WEST - Lower volumes are expected as zucchini continues to decrease from all three California growing districts.

• GRAPES Heavy volumes of California grapes continue to be packed as we move through mid-October, and we are now beginning to see peak production wind down for the season
