(Continued from Page 1)Lauren Crotinger played
#1 singles. Lauren is our only senior on our team. She has been a great leader and has improved at each meet. When you play #1 singles, you are playing the best of the best, so you better go out hard! Lauren did just that! She played some very tough matches. She has been improving mentally with each match and this has paid off for her. Lauren
defeated all her opponents for 1st place, earning her All-league in #1 singles.
I was very proud of all the girls! They handled themselves like true champions. They represented our school with pride!
It was a surprise to be in the running for league champions. All the girls had to take care of business. We were not even worried about winning league. We were focused on improving our
games, so winning league was a great accomplishment for them all. All six girls earn All-league team! Super job, Red!
Our Regional meet is October 11th and 12th at Meade. There will be 24 singles and 24 doubles teams. The top 6 will qualify for the State Tennis Meet to be hosted in Kansas City.
Good luck, Rabbits!— Coach Myers

The Jackrabbits playing at Cheylin were Bobby Rayas, 60, Isaac Schneider, 2, Jacob Miller, 3, Jesus Martinez, 45, Titus Sherer, 11, Seth Williams, 24 and Rey Chavez, 13.
In a game played at Cheylin on Friday, Oct. 4, the Tribune Jackrabbits lost a 6-man game to Cheylin 60-20.
Cheylin started out fast, scoring on their first play from scrimmage on a short pass where they broke many tackles and showed off some of their speed. After the quick score, the Jackrabbits would find it difficult to get anything going on their first series as they turned the ball over on downs.
The Cougars went right back to work, marching down the field for another score to extend their lead to 14-0. The Jackrabbits would find some life on their next series with Titus Sherer connecting to Jacob Miller on a 40-yard TD pass. Miller would also catch the 1-point conversion pass to narrow the score to 14-7.
This unfortunately would be as close as the Jackrabbits would get it as Cheylin would go on to take a 28-7 1st quarter advantage and continue to extend it as the 2nd quarter got underway.
Sherer would again find
Miller on a 3 yard scoring pass late in the 2nd quarter and the Jackrabbits would go in at halftime trailing the Cougars 56-13.
To open the 2nd half the Jackrabbits knew that they would need a score to keep the game going. On the first drive of the 2nd half the Jackrabbits showed that they would not go away quietly as they marched down the field and Seth Williams capped off the drive with a 3-yard TD run. Sherer would follow this up by scrambling in for the 1 pt conversion.
The Jackrabbits would continue to fight well into the 3rd quarter but eventually the size and experience of the Cougars would prove too much for them and the game
would end with a score of Cheylin 68 Tribune 20.
“I thought that the boys played extremely hard and showed that they will continue to fight until the game is over,” remarked Tribune coach Kyle Finder. “We showed some glimpses of being a really good team but untimely penalties, turnovers, and other mistakes kept us from making this game more competitive. I’m looking forward to seeing this team continue to grow and work to correct these mental mistakes.
“Thank you to everyone who has come out to support us in the few games that we have had this year, we truly appreciate it.”
