The Prudential RideLondon Classique pro women’s race takes place on a spectacular 5.5km circuit in central London, beginning on The Mall in St James’s Park, before going up Constitution Hill, turning at the top to come down and onto Birdcage Walk, then passing Big Ben and turning left onto Whitehall and right onto the Strand before turning again to come back up the Strand, through Trafalgar Square, Admiralty Arch and back onto The Mall.
The Prudential RideLondon Classique, which will be televised live on BBC Two,
has WorldTour status with the world’s governing body for cycling, the Union CycIiste Internationale (UCI) and has a prize pool of 100,000 Euros. Once again, the prize money for the Prudential RideLondon Classique is the highest ever offered for a women’s one-day race and matches the prize money offered at the world’s richest one day men’s race – the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic – which takes place the following day, Sunday 30 July. We’ll be celebrating this by encouraging everyone
riding in the race, as well as everyone watching on TV at home and on the streets of London, to use the hashtag #PedalParity on social media.
Come along to show your support and enjoy a spectacular, adrenalin-fuelled display of bike racing as the world’s top women riders race around central London, with many of the capital’s finest landmarks providing a stunning backdrop to all the action. QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARKWe strongly recommend that your friends and family do not accompany you to the start of the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the morning of Sunday 30 July.
Access to the sportive Start Area is tough for spectators as public transport is limited at that time in the morning, there will be extensive road closures in place and parking will be difficult.
EAST LONDON You will head out of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park through Poplar and Stepney and towards Tower Bridge before continuing along the Embankment by the River Thames. Several London Underground District line stations serve this section of the route: Tower Hill, Monument, Mansion House, Temple and Embankment.

Rail station. Supporters should expect the walk from the station up the hill into Richmond Park to take around 30 minutes.
KINGSTON UPON THAMESAfter leaving Richmond Park at Kingston Gate Lodge, you will continue south along Queen’s Road before turning west onto the A308 through Kingston town centre. The route passes through Kingston twice – at roughly 25 miles and 85 miles – so supporters stationed here will have
two opportunities to cheer you on and enjoy the street party taking place in the town. Kingston, Norbiton and Hampton Wick stations are a short walk from the sportive route.
HAMPTON COURT PALACEAfter crossing Kingston Bridge, you will continue along the A308 to the first Hub on the route at Hampton Court Palace. Your friends and family should head to Hampton Court railway station to support you on this section of the sportive.
WALTON-ON-THAMESFrom the 27-mile point at Hampton Court Bridge (where riders in the 46-mile sportive will leave the route), you will follow Hurst Road (A3050) past Molesey Reservoirs and through Walton-on-Thames to Weybridge.
There are very few public-transport options available along the route after Hampton Court station, but this would be a great place for your supporters to catch a glimpse of you during the sportive.
THE ANCIENT MARKET PLACE, KINGSTONKingston is a great place to catch the action in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 as the route passes through the town twice. Kingston’s Ancient Market Place will host a cycling festival with something for all the family, including a big screen, live music, street entertainment and a breathtaking BMX stunt show. This is definitely a prime location to enjoy the day’s action.

WEYBRIDGEYour supporters will find it easier to get to the route just after the 33-mile point, where you will turn south along the B374 Heath Road and cross the railway line by Weybridge station. Monument Green with its artisan food and craft market, combined with music from local Brooklands Radio make Weybridge another perfect place to watch the action.
WEST BYFLEETThe route continues south through Brooklands before turning west on the A245 through Byfleet and West Byfleet. It’s a short walk from West Byfleet station to the route on Old Woking Road. A couple of miles later you will swing south onto the B367 Coldharbour Road through Pyrford and Ripley before crossing over the A3 and beyond the 40-mile mark. The streets of the metropolis are well and truly behind you now and the long, winding curves of Rose Lane and Ripley Lane, through beautiful Surrey countryside, will be a welcome change as you head towards West Horsley.
NEWLANDS CORNER At West Horsley the route turns right at the roundabout onto the A246 Epsom Road through East Clandon and opens out to a dual carriageway then turns left down Shere Road.
After a mile and a half you will reach Newlands Corner, arguably one of the most picturesque areas on the route. Newlands Corner sits on a ridge of the Albury Downs, which is part of the North Downs in an area of chalk grassland and woodlands.
This section of the route has some of the best views of the Surrey Hills, but it will, unfortunately, be difficult to access on the day because of the necessary road closures around the route. If your friends and family are prepared to walk up to this beautiful spot though, they will be rewarded with great views.
ABINGER HAMMER From Newlands Corner you will continue east through Gomshall past the halfway point and onto Abinger Hammer. Gomshall station has a limited service on Sunday but if your supporters fancy watching the event away from the bustle of London, the village is very pretty and there are plenty of pubs and cafes to watch from. Check out firstgreatwestern.co.uk for up-to-date travel details.
You will then turn south down the B2126 Felday Road, which becomes Horsham Road, until you reach Holmbury St Mary. From here you continue onto Holmbury Road and hit the most southerly point of the sportive, turning left onto Ockley Road at Forest Green.
LEITH HILLThe route then turns north up Etherley
Hill and onto Abinger Road, where you’ll enjoy smaller leafy lanes and more beautiful Surrey countryside before heading onto the big climb of the sportive up Leith Hill Lane – a tough part of the route but a great spot to support from.
Climbing the hill, the route hits Guildford Road, at which point it turns east to Westcott and the 63-mile point. The route then continues eastwards towards the town of Dorking.
DORKINGDorking is a great place to watch the action – a perfect balance of town and country – and there will be plenty to entertain your supporters before and after they see you, including our popular DJ truck, which will ensure an amazing atmosphere. You, however, will have to push on through the town and onto the challenge of Box Hill.

Now on Portsmouth Road (where riders in the 46-mile sportive will rejoin the route for the final 17 miles), you’ll wind your way back towards London. The towns and villages become more frequent with both Thames Ditton and Surbiton stations well within walking distance of the route.
THAMES DITTONJust off Portsmouth Road is the Thames Ditton Supporters Hub at Giggs Hill Green, where a new community-led day of fun will be taking place including children’s rides and inflatables, music, food stalls and local sports club demonstrations.
KINGSTON UPON THAMESIt is here, as you enter Kingston, that you will get your first glimpse of the Thames since leaving it behind at Hampton Court Bridge more than 60 miles ago. This is also the first point on the route that the return journey meets the outbound journey and, with both Kingston station and Norbiton station
nearby for access, it makes for a great location for your supporters to watch the event.
Once again, Kingston is throwing a huge festival to welcome the cyclists passing through the town on both their outbound and inbound legs. There will be something for all the family with a big screen, live music, street entertainment and a breathtaking BMX stunt show on offer. Your friends and family will also be able to make the most of Kingston’s great shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.
The route leaves Kingston along the London Road until it turns right onto Coombe Road (A238) and passes Norbiton station.
WIMBLEDONThe sportive crosses the A3 again and, staying with the A238, reaches Raynes Park station and onto the 90-mile mark just before Wimbledon.
Wimbledon offers another vantage point to watch the day’s events; the station is well connected and the Love Wimbledon Street Party is sure to be a treat (see opposite for details).
The route then runs alongside the Wombles’ famous home, Wimbledon Common. This is the last large green space on the route and, as you turn right at Tibbet’s Corner and head downhill, you will feel like you’re well and truly back in the city.
PUTNEYPutney is a great place for spectators; well connected, with East Putney Underground and Putney rail station, it is also the point where the route crosses the Thames for the last time.
CHELSEAAt Putney Bridge Underground station the route will fork right up New King’s Road, then turn right down Ashburnham Road for a last view of the river along Chelsea Embankment.
WESTMINSTERThe final mile will see you head past the Houses of Parliament and up Whitehall before a left turn through Trafalgar Square. The Finish Line will now be in view as you pass under Admiralty Arch and along The Mall to finish facing Buckingham Palace. Your friends and family should note that this area is likely to be particularly crowded.
THE FINISHAfter you’ve completed the sportive, there is a meet and greet area in the Broad Walk area of Green Park to rendezvous with your friends or family. The trees in this part of the park will be marked with letters of the alphabet so you can arrange to meet at your family initial or at another prearranged letter.
This area will be busy but do NOT be tempted to congregate around the exits from the secure area closer to the Finish Line. This causes enormous congestion and health and safety issues for the crowds in this area. Our security personnel are instructed not to allow people to congregate here and to move them along.
Heavy mobile phone traffic on all networks means you may find it difficult to receive or make a call in and around the Finish Area. Do not rely on mobile phones as your only means of communication. Share a contact telephone number to relay messages to a third party who will be at home and will be able to take calls and pass messages between you, should your plans go awry.
In the unlikely event of the Finish Area becoming unavailable as a result of a serious incident or the sportive being stopped for some other reason, you are advised to agree an alternative meeting place (this should not be within two miles of the Finish Area) with friends and relatives.

MEETING UP WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILYAfter crossing the Finish Line, it will take about 30 to 40 minutes for you to reach the meet and greet area. Remember to build these factors into your arrangements for meeting friends and relatives.
Remember that you are likely to feel tired and weary. As such, meeting your friends and relatives after the sportive will be difficult among thousands of other cyclists if you haven’t made specific arrangements.
After you have been reunited with your friends or family, why not stay in central London to watch the closing miles of the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic? Depending on the speed of the professional race, the winners should cross the Finish Line on The Mall at about 18:00. For more information on watching the race, see page 18.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46 returns to the world’s greatest festival of cycling for its second year and features a spectacular 46-mile route. The sportive (remember, it’s not a race!) was been created with newer cyclists and younger cyclists in mind. It offers a great chance for beginner riders to take on the traffic-free roads of London and Surrey.
Beginning at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the sportive follows the same route as the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 for the first 27 miles and last 17 miles, with a two-mile section linking the two parts together.
MILES 0-27Supporters can use the map and information on pages 11 and 12 to check out the best places to watch this section of the sportive.
MILES 27-46After heading south through Thames Ditton and Western Green, the route turns to the east at the Scilly Isles, taking riders back into London through Kingston and over Putney Bridge to cross the River Thames for a final time.
Riders then follow the Embankment all the way alongside the Thames, heading past some of London’s most famous landmarks. After making their way across Parliament Square, up Whitehall and left at Trafalgar Square, riders will stream under Admiralty Arch before a spectacular finish on The Mall. See pages 98 and 99 for info on this section of the route.
A MEDAL TO TREASUREAfter cyclists finish the sportive on The Mall, they will receive a spectacular commemorative medal.
