Reminder… Topic In RE next week we will continue to explore the relationship between religion and science, discussing whether they conflict or complement each other. In Art, we will begin to look at sketching mythical creatures from our favourite stories. Maths In Maths, the children will be continuing with their work on fractions. Now that the children are able to simplify fractions and identify equivalents, we will be moving on to solving fraction calculations (+, -, x and ÷). This will also involve the children having to use their skills from last week (converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers). English In English next week, we will be moving on from letter writing to explore narrative stories. We will start by recapping their features/structure before unpicking the skills needed to write an effective narrative. Towards the end of the week we will be reviewing our use of fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases to encourage us to add detail to our writing. Friday 2nd October, 2020 In Other News… Please can you remind your children that, whether they are inside or outside the school grounds, that they are part of the St Matthew’s community. As such, when they are walking to and from school, they must ensure that their behaviour is of the highest standard to ensure that they are representing both themselves and the school in the best light possible. Thank you! We appreciate your on-going support. Home Learning Please remember that Google Classroom is still being used to set homework activities. Timestables Children should also be practising their times tables on TT Rockstars and reading regularly at home. Coats and Water bottles Please ensure that your child is sent in daily with a warm coat and a refillable water bottle.
