Monday Morning--Dad’s Breakfast with the Principal: Dads…. come and enjoy some food and conversation on Monday, Feb. 9th from 6:30 -8:00AM in the dining hall. Then entrance is up the ramp on Almond Street. I will share information about our principal search, the upcoming restoration project for the church and Walker Hall, and talk about the importance of your role as a dad. Used Uniform Sale: In case your child has outgrown some of those uniform pieces, please note that we are having a used uniform sale on Wednesday, Feb. 11th, from 2:00-4:00 in room 203. Come save some money.

Don’t Forget in February: Please remember that there are no tuition fees collected during the month of February. This enables families to solely pay their reenrollment fees. Remember – the entire re-enrollment fee is due in February.

Monthly Open House: We are consistently finding that the vast majority of new parents enroll their children at St. John’s because of current parents sharing their satisfaction. Wednesday, February 25th at 10:30AM, we host an Open House for prospective parents. Please pass this event on to friends and neighbors.

TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR 2015/2016 – St. John’s Lutheran School offers tuition assistance on the basis of need. On Feb. 10th Tuition Assistance forms will be available on RENWEB “Resource Documents” – A necessary part of this application process will be that families need to have their 2014 taxes prepared/completed. (Other necessary documents are W-2’s and 1099’s). IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND – In order to allow time for this process, all forms are due to PSAS by April 1st – this is a very firm deadline. Once again this year, distribution of available funds will be done in a timely manner so as to respect the financial needs of families, as well as punctuality of applications.

Referral Refund Incentive For Currently Enrolled School Families (Includes Preschool – Grade 8 families) If a new family is accepted, enrolls, and attends during the 2015/2016 school year, and names you, one of our currently enrolled families, as the referral family on their Application for Admission, you will receive a registration refund check equal to that of the new student. The newly enrolled family must be new to St. John’s Lutheran School and Church. This is our way of saying thank you for being in partnership with us and sharing your love of the Lord and St. John’s with others. The week of August 3-7, 2015, young, inquisitive scientists and inventors from grades K-5 will meet at St. John’s for a fun week of camp that will challenge their minds and develop creativity. For Camp Invention alumni, there is a special $35 discount for registering by February 16th. All new campers can receive a $25 discount for signing up by March 20th! WILL YOU WIN A GOLDEN TICKET? MomsLife is registering for Spring 2015. MomsLife is a group of Moms with children ages 0- 8th grade that meets once or twice a month for a speaker and craft. Our speaker dates are Feb 5 (How to protect your kids online), Mar 5 (chores and allowances), Apr 2 (a marriage talk) and May 7 (Tea and Testimony from Kristyn Von Rotz from Forever Footprints). SHARE EVENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY - Join us for the next Love Santa Ana Initiative Work Day! When: Saturday February 14th 8:00am -12:00pm Where: St. John’s people will gather together with the people serving from Trinity Cristo Rey at Trinity Cristo Rey at 7:00am (902 S Broadway Santa Ana, CA). From there we will travel to the Willard Neighborhood to serve from 8:00am to noon, What: Together we will work on beautifying the neighborhood and bringing restoration through trash pick -up, Graffiti removal and painting. There will also be a resource fair with kid’s games and activities (This is a kid-friendly event, and a great opportunity for them to serve alongside Moms and Dads). You may be asked to serve in any of these areas. Wear Sneakers, work clothes & your yellow shirt (If you don’t have one you can pick yours up the day of the event). Bring along work gloves and any tools you would like to use. (Tools will also be provided). Register through the church website.
