MAIN HUNTER RING
The Green Working Hunters showed first in the Main Ring today
and Select Sport Horses’ Jus D’O with Brandon Gibson won both
rounds which gave them enough for the Champion award over
Claudia Pollex’s Mylo Xyloto and Bruce Christison who took the
Reserve Champion award. Daniel Geitner’s Select with Cathy
Geitner in the irons won both rounds of Pre-Green Hunters today
over Susan Sisco and Lauren Schock’s Capezio who took the blue in
the Pre-Green Incentive Stake. Select finished with the Champion
award and Capezio took the Reserve Champion.
The Performance Hunter under saddle top call went to Liddy
Strickland’s Judgement Call ridden by Jessica Thaxton and Megan Rosenthal rode Avery Lynch’s Ledger and her own
Cool Music to the first and second spots respectively in the over fences. The Champion and Reserve awards went to
Avery Lynch’s two entries Tumbling Dice and Ledger. The day finished with Modified Junior/Amateur Hunters and
blues going to Patowmack with Alyssa Mansfield for the Stone Lane Farm, Ledger with owner Avery Lynch, and
Claudine with owner Carol Thogode. Madison and owner Elise George took the Champion award and Patowmack and
Alyssa Mansfield were Reserve Champion.
DIETRICH DERBY FIELD
Quantum Leap and owner Doug Payne won the 0.85m class over
Remington and owner Jessica Payne. Blues in the 0.90m classes went
to Quadami RGS with owner Meredith Till and Johannah Bell’s
R’Chimedes with Jessica Thaxton. The 1.00m classes were won by
Southland Stables’ Excuse B with Christina Jason and Glenarvon
Farm’s Patrick with Doug Payne. Tatabra Quatar and owner Sarah
Thompson won the 1.10m class over Chasm Z and owner Madison
Akins.
Michael Rubin’s Eli took the top call in the 1.15m with Doug Payne
up. The $5,000 Welcome Stake finished the day in the Dietrich Derby
Field with a field of 14 challenging the Lewis Pack designed course. Kasarr and Erin McGuire smoked the competition
to take blue over Michael Rubin’s Eli with Doug Payne in second, and Burmonds & Wetmore’s Morrison with Casey
Mason in third. Exhibitors enjoyed the Welcome Reception under the viewing tents with refreshments and HOT soup
from Noble Breads.
HUNTER RING 2
The Hopeful Hunters were first up in Hunter 2 today with blues going
to Accomac with owner Ashlen Rowe and Norway De La Fosse with
Jessica Thaxton for owner Edie Ringger, both over Stacy Wolf’s
Cartington and Susan Sisco who ended up with the Champion award.
McKala Cass’ Doc Holiday finished with the Reserve Champion. In
the Baby Green Hunters Select Sport Horses’ Stellar with Brandon
Gibson and Stacy Wolf’s Cartington with Susan Sisco each won a
class. Cartington was the Champion and Stellar was the Reserve
Champion. Cathy Geitner won blues in the Aiken County Hunters
with Paddy Ann Burns’ Apple taking top in both rounds and Janet
Peterson’s Restless Honor taking second in both and they finished
Champion and Reserve Champion respectively. Wat Tyler with owner Sara Nason took the top call in both rounds of
3’ Performance Hunters over Honor Council and owner Rylee Rosenthal.
In the Modified Child/Adult Hunters Finest Hour with owner Lauren Binns took the top call in the first round and Mary
Guynn won the second round with her mount London T and the two
ended up Champion and Reserve Champion respectively. The
under saddle class top call went to Heartthrob and Sarah Grant.
Sabrina Riehl won the Ariat Adult Medal over Brenda Terry. A huge
Schooling Pony division finished the day in Hunter 2 with blues in
the over fences going to Victoria Press’ Love and Laughter with
Alexa Aureliano and Bennett Bunn Plantation’s Mr. Bojangles with
Dawson Amick. Alexa Aureliano rode Hannah Bernstein’s
Woodlands Stevie Ray for the top call in the under saddle. Mr.
Bojangles with Dawson Amick took the Champion Award and Gigi
Manigault won the Reserve Champion award with Katrina Hutto’s
Finest Feather By Far.
