Members’ Matters

Somebody important once said: “People spend too much time building walls, and

not enough time building bridges.”

Thought for the Day

We always need the Nal’ibali, the insert to the Herald on some Thursday’s, for Sally Potgieter who uses them to help learners at certain schools. Please continue to bring them to lunch when you can.

Because of the public holiday on the 27/4/2016, and the fact that a number of our club members will be

taking this opportunity to go out of town for a break, we have changed the date of the Club’s

CHARTER DINNER

to Tuesday, the 26th April

Please put this new date into your diaries.

We still need nominations for deserving people for the

1) ‘For Sake of Honour’ (Special service not related to person’s vocation)

and

2) ‘Meritorious Service’ awards. (Special service within the person’s vocation)

Please give nominations to Linsley Pudney or any other Board Member before 31st March.

ooOoo

The Rotary Convention will be in Seoul, Korea,

this year, and judging by the publicity it looks like it will be a great event.

28th May to1st June.

Who is going to represent us from our club? Those who have attended Conventions know that it is a huge experience, offering lots of fun & culture,

and gives amazing opportunities to meet like- minded people, and to learn why

Rotary is truly International.

For the first time ever I now understand how a Global Grant really works! At the Presidents and Officer’s Elect

Training held in Colesberg this past weekend, they showed us how it works, instead of just telling us. Seeing it so cleverly and humorously portrayed

- note the beer can and string ‘telephones’ - it now all makes sense!
