Taste of Home

Plan to bring a dish and sample many at the May 1, 6:00 p.m. Taste of Home Sampler at

your library. Any favorite or new recipe may be brought with your own table service. Call

the library with your selection and provide a copy of the recipe so that they may be copied

for all. Some of the dishes already planned for the May 1 sampling session are Crock Pot

Bread Pudding, Magic Beans, and Lemon Pudding Dessert. We have been enjoying this

program since 1996 and no participant has ever left still hungry. Every meal has been bal-

anced with entrees, salad, vegetables, desserts, and, usually a bread. If you like to test new

recipes and never get around to preparing all that you identify, this is a great way to sample

many new recipes while only preparing one or two to share with like-minded samplers.

Spring Coloring Contest Winners!

Congratulations to our Coloring Contest

Winners! Emma Delp, Chloe Pavey, and

Morgan Witte won the youth categories, and

Reagan White got first place in the teen con-

test. Our three adult winners were Sandy

Naekel, Shazia Baker, and Sasha William-

son. Thanks to everyone who participated!

We enjoyed seeing your creativity expressed

through coloring!

Book Discussion - Keep Quiet

Keep Quiet by Lisa Scottoline has been selected as the May book discussion title. Jake Buck-

man has a tenuous relationship with his son. In an attempt to bond, Jake picks Ryan up af-

ter a movie. When Ryan asks to drive, Jake sees it as an opportunity to make a connection.

Tragedy strikes, and Jake makes a split-second decision that plunges them into a world of

guilt.

Book discussion will meet on Monday, May 8 at 1:30 p.m. in the library’s young adult room;

meetings usually last an hour. Light refreshments will be available. There are several copies

of the book available - we hope you’ll join us!

May Writers’ Group

The suggested topic for our May Writers’

Group is “Introducing (Your Name)”. How

has your life changed this past year? What

DON’T we know about you? Your aspira-

tions? Hopes? Dreams? Writers may also

choose a different topic, sharing up to 3 pag-

es of work, or just come enjoy some good

homespun tales. Please join us Thursday,

May 18th at 6:30 p.m. All ages are invited;

light refreshments will be served.

Adult Lunch at the Library

Adults age 60 and up are invited to enjoy lunch daily at 11:30 a.m. at the library. This is

the thirteenth year that Central Indiana Council on Aging (CICOA) has delivered balanced

meals Monday through Friday to the library. The recommended donation for the meal is

$3.00. Those under age 60 may also be served, but the recommended donation is $6.00.

Reservations are due no later than 1:00 p.m. the day prior to the desired meal. Often there

is a baked dessert provided by library staff, and there are vanilla ice cream and sauces

available daily. The ice cream is funded by a donations can that remains available during

meal time; this allows dessert to be served without dipping into the library’s budget and

taxpayer dollars. The menu is printed monthly in the library newsletter. Join us - but call

the library first to make a reservation, please!
