PRESIDENT’S Message

What a joy and a privilege it has been to serve as your President for the past year. Despite some weather setbacks and a board change, we enjoyed another year of exciting programs featuring three authors, a journalist and a musician.

Thanks to Phyllis for planning a group of programs that enlightened, entertained and heightened our awareness of the historic Birmingham Metro area. Thanks to Phyllis and Hazel for recording our club year in scrapbook and video form.

Thanks to Pat for her continued service and dedication to maintaining excellent ongoing communication through Calling Post. We were able to respond to our unexpected program changes quickly and seamlessly.

I am so appreciative of all the members of the board for their dedication and faithfulness to supporting our amazing Hoover library.

I am thrilled that so many members of the 2013-2014 board will be continuing to serve on the new board. Also, how exciting is it that two former Friends' Presidents, Roberta Atkinson and Jeanne Frederick will lead our 2014-2015 board as President and 1st Vice-President respectively! Congrats to the entire 2014-2015 board for your willingness to serve.

Thanks again to the board and all the Friends for your encouragement, enthusiasm and love for the Hoover Library. Thanks, too for giving me the opportunity to serve as your President.
