The Palmer Museum of Art is a signi�cant centerpiece of cultural activity for Penn State, central Pennsylvania, and beyond the region. An average of 38,000 people visit the museum each year. Visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the museum’s exhibitions and collections on display throughout eleven galleries, admission free.

The Friends of the Palmer Museum of Art, the museum’s membership organization, continually volunteer their time to further the educational and public service interests of the museum. In doing so, they strive to raise funds that are used to support more than 100 annual museum programs and events, o�ered to all visitors, admission free.

The Gala dinner and auction, an annual black-tie fundraiser in May, is organized by the Friends to help generate income used for supporting the museum’s educational programming that in turn, helps the museum provide service back to our community. Each year, the committee chooses a theme and begins organizing auction donations, securing entertainment, and selecting dinner courses to o�er. An average of 150 local businesses and individuals generously contribute to the Gala through silent and live auction donations, as well as sponsorships, and an average of 240 supporters attend the event.
