TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

5 September 2018

‘A Teacher Takes a Hand, Opens a Mind and Touches a Heart.’

To celebrate Teacher’s Day, Vidya Bharati School organized a fun-filled after school program in the school auditorium where the teachers had a gala time participating in various performances, games and fun-filled activities.

The Celebration started with the cake cutting ceremony by Dr. Alam Ali Sisodia, the General Secretary. Addressing the teachers on the occasion, Dr. Alam Ali Sisodia, the General Secretary and Dr. Manjusha Joshi, the Principal extolled the role of teachers in student’s life. A felicitation ceremony was held to honor the teachers who have dedicated their lives imparting knowledge and skills to young children and a memento of appreciation was conferred upon the teachers in various categories which included awards like Teacher of the year, Most creative teacher, Most enthusiastic teacher, Awards for achieving 100 % result throughout the year and many more.

Many cultural programs were conducted including a spectacular fashion show, antakshri, engaging games, dance and singing performances where the teachers participated with zeal and vigour and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A token of appreciation was presented to each and every staff member of VBS. The event ended with live music by DJ wherein all those present enjoyed. The program concluded with a sumptuous lunch for the teachers and admin staff members. It was truly a remarkable and memorable day for one and all present there.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE FOR SWACHH BHARAT

(CBSE ACTIVITY)

Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, a cleanliness drive with participation of faculty, staff and students was conducted in the Vidya Bharati School. AGENDA

To make the students aware about the Swachh Bharat campaign initiated by our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

To spread awareness about the cleanliness and benefits of keeping surroundings neat and tidy.

To circulate the message of Swacch Bharat all around.

To sensitize students towards environment protection.

To appraise students about the benefits and need of personnel hygiene in day to day life.

ACTIVITIES

GREEN DRIVE:

Students brought saplings and planted them in school premises. They took interest and actively and enthusiastically participated in tree plantation drive. It helped them to connect with the nature and learn the benefits of plants around us. They were made aware about how the plants and trees recharge ground water, bring rains and prevent soil erosion.

SWACHH WATER DAY:

Students were briefed about importance of using clean water which in turn lead to healthy and disease-free life. They were made aware about the water borne diseases and the need of using clean water as a preventive measure against water borne diseases.

PERSONAL HYGIENE DAY:

Students were briefed about how we should take care of personal hygiene and why it is necessary to do so. The tag line of the conducted activity was “To Be Healthy And Fit, Be Hygienic.” Personal hygiene is essential to promote good health. Benefits and need of personnel hygiene was emphasized.

LETTER WRITING DAY: Students actively participated in the activity and showed their creative side. Students

shared their personal experience in form of Letter about how they have participated in

cleanliness drive to ensure that their surroundings remain neat and clean. The objective of

this activity was to motivate students to keep their surrounding clean. Importance of

cleanliness in our lives and in the society was emphasized.

‘SAKSHAM’ NATIONAL COMPETITION - 2018

ESSAY, PAINTING AND QUIZ

Date & Venue:

Students of Vidya Bharati School, Ghaziabad participated in PCRA competitions (Essay writing,

painting and quiz) held in school auditorium from 4th September 2018 to 10th

September 2018.

Agenda:

To inculcate creativity amongst students.

To develop artistic and competitive skills among students.

To develop literary skills amongst students.

To gain knowledge about fuel conservation and its importance.

Highlights

Day 1 (4th September 2018)

Essay writing in two languages (Hindi and English) was held in school auditorium. The topic for

the same was “Save fuel for better environment”. Around 150 students participated in total.

Day 2 (7th September 2018)

Quiz competition was held in computer lab. Questions were related to fuel conservation,

environment etc.

Day 3 (10th September 2018)

Painting competition was held in school auditorium. The topic for the competition was “Save

fuel for better environment’. There were two categories for the same (Junior for classes 5, 6 and

7 ; Senior for classes 8,9 and 10).

Outcome:

In the end of the competitions, students got aware about practical conservation tips for

conservation tips of petroleum conservation in various sectors.

GRANDPARENTS’ DAY CELEBRATION

‘Grandparents are someone with silver in their hair and gold in their heart.’

Special people deserve a special day……

Date and venue As grandparents play a special role in a child’s life, leaving a lasting impression on them, Vidya Bharati School celebrated Grandparents’ Day on7th September 2018 in a befitting manner and thanked the grandparents for their love and support.

Agenda

To nurture our children as a happy, respectful and responsible citizen of the society.

To realize the importance of grandparents in one’s life.

To develop bonding between grandparent and child.

Highlights The motive of Grand Parents Day celebration was to make our children feel that

grandparents are not only grandparents; they are our inspiration, our guide and the angel

who are always there to understand and support us.

The guests of honor – the Grandparents – were welcomed with the attractive and colorful

photo frames.

On the special occasion, Dr. Manjusha Joshi, Principal enlightened us with her views about

joint families. According to her with the shrinking size of the families, grandparents are

often missed out by most of the children. So it is important to sensitize kids about the role

of grandparents in one’s life and teach them about respecting and taking care of them in

their old age. She laid emphasis on the emotional bonding of children with their families

and thus strengthening the unique bond between children and grandparents.

The event started by felicitation of grandparents, followed by some dance performances by

our kiddos of Nursery and KG. The whole event was based on the theme “GURU’. Our first

guru is a mother, then comes teacher but foremost is a grandparent. Tiny tots, in their own

special way, thanked their Grandpas and Grandmas for their love and support. After fun-

filled performances, grandparents participated in playing few games with zeal – Matko with

matki (for grandmothers), Blow and throw (for grandfathers), identify the song, Fashion

show – ramp walk (for couples) followed by question answer session round. A couple was

given the title “Made for each other”. The winner grandparents were greeted with the gifts

by the principal. Grandparents also shared their mesmerizing moments with the children.

They were proud to see their grandchildren performing on the stage. They applauded the

school’s effort for organizing such events and inculcating moral values in the little ones of

the society.

Analysis The atmosphere in the auditorium was delightful as more than 100 grandparents turned up

for the event. The day filled with fun and frolic was appreciated by the elders who

abundantly enjoyed with their little ones. Appropriate music and enthusiastic grandparents

made the event runaway a hit.

COLOURING COMPETITION

Date and venue An Intra class Coloring Competition was conducted on 12th September 2018 in Pre Primary wing of Vidya Bharati School.

Agenda

To improve their imagination.

To improve their fine motor skills.

To develop eye-hand coordination.

To develop competitive spirit among the students.

To show the importance of art in our day to day life.

Highlights

The students participated very enthusiastically in the coloring competition. The theme of the competition was Fruits, Animals and Nature scene. The students filled the colors very creatively by using their own imagination. The whole event was very vibrant as the students coloured the pictures very neatly. It was a fulfilled event for the students. Analysis

This activity inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote aesthetic excellence. The pride and glory in the eyes of the participants was certainly a sight to witness.

VOLLEYBALL MATCH

On 11th & 12th September 2018, VBS volleyball girls team (Senior group) under the

mentorship of Ms. Neelam Sharma and Mr. Manish Kumar participated in CBSE

Cluster. They cleared the first round with walkover. They performed really well and

gave a tough competition to the opposing team but lost the match to team of

Vivekanand School, Dehradun. However the players were appreciated.
