We invite you to our welcome dinner watching the “El Querandi” Tango show. You’ll then spend the night at the Hotel Rochester Classic. (B/D) 3 rd Day, Thursday: El Tigre River Cruise You board the boat at Puerto Madero and head to Tigre. The cruise goes along the Costanera Navigation Canal, parallel to the Buenos Aires shoreline, passing the River Plate Stadium and the University of Buenos Aires. Then, we cruise through the canals of the delta, one of the largest in the world. Puerto de Frutos is a lively and popular spot where you’ll have some time to take photos and walk around. 1st Day, Tuesday: Arrival in Buenos Aires

You arrive with your international flight in Buenos Aires. We welcome you at the Ezeiza International

Airport and drive you to the Hotel Rochester Classic. For the rest of the day, you have free time.

2nd Day, Wednesday: Buenos Aires City Tour

4th Day, Friday: Buenos Aires – Salta

Transfer to the airport and flight to Salta. Transfer to the Hotel Salta. Salta is a colonial city with lots of

history and interesting buildings. Delve into Argentina’s history in Salta. Salta has a fascinating historical

center with a famous cathedral and many colonial streets and buildings. You stay overnight at the Hotel

Salta. (B/L)

5th Day, Saturday: Tren a las Nubes

Departure with our vehicle from Salta to the

small village of Alfarcito. Then the journey

continues through the Quebrada de las Cuevas

to San Antonio de Cobres. In San Antonio de

Cobres, we embark on the Train to the Clouds

and travel to the Polvorilla Viaduct. The

journey takes an hour to the viaduct, at 4,200

meters (13’780 ft) above sea level. The train

stops for 30 minutes at the viaduct that you

have time to take pictures and do some

souvenir shopping. We have lunch in San

Antonio de Cobres. The last stop will be held in

Santa Rosa de Tastil before we reach Salta in

the evening. (B/L)

6th Day, Sunday: Calchaqui Valley

Discover the natural wonders of the Salta province during this full-day sightseeing and wine tasting day

trip from Salta. Trek south of Salta into the Calchaquí Valley. We stop at the Devil’s Throat rock formation

before we reach the winemaking town of

Cafayate. You’ll tour a winery and taste some

local wines before we return to Salta. (B/L)

7th Day, Monday: Salta

You enjoy a free day in Salta. (B)

8th Day, Tuesday: Salta – Quebrada

Humahuaca

From Salta, we drive to the Humahuaca Gorge,

which will impress you with its steep rock faces.

Traders already used the important trade route

through the gorge 10,000 years ago. At the

village of Purmamarca, you will experience the

Jujeño Village Culture. Our trip continues on

“Route 9” to Huacalera. Overnight we stay at

the Hotel Huacalera (B/L/D)

9th Day, Wednesday: Huacalera – Expreso del Sur to Uyuni

In the morning, we cross the border from Argentina to Bolivia. At the Bolivian border town of Villazon, we

go to a private home where we leave the luggage until the train departs. We have lunch with our friends.

When time permits, we visit on foot the central market in Villazon. After lunch, we transfer to the railway

station and board the “Expreso del Sur” to Uyuni. We have dinner aboard the train. The train reaches

Uyuni at 12:30 AM. A local guide welcomes us at the railway station and brings us to the Hotel Palacio de

Sal, where we spend the rest of the night. (B/L/D)

10th Day, Thursday: Uyuni

We visit the train cemetery in Uyuni. Explore various oxidized steam engines and wagons on this

spectacular site surrounded by a unique scenery. In Colchani, we visit an artisanal salt processing plant

and witness traditional salt extraction methods. At the Incahuasi Island (known as Fisher Island) in the

middle of the world’s largest salt flat, you see amazing giant cactus. Lunch will be served midst of the salt

flat. Overnight we’ll stay at the Hotel Palacio de Sal. (B/L/D)

11th Day, Friday: Uyuni – La Paz

Departure to Coquesa village, where we

watch the mommies. Afterward, we go to a

viewpoint on the foothills of Tunupa Volcano

where you have breathtaking views over

the region. We drive over the salt flat to the

Uyuni where we have an early dinner. Then

we take the evening flight to La Paz. In La

Paz, we stay at the Hotel Europa. (B, L, D)

12th Day, Saturday: La Paz

We do a tour of this fascinating city.

Discover the indigenous Cosmo-vision and

their mystical rituals at the Witches Market.

The San Francisco Church, the historic

district around the main square and the

“Plaza Murillo” with the Legislative and the

Government Palace are other sights of interest that we visit. Enjoy breathtaking views of La Paz from the

Killi Killi viewpoint. We’ll return to the hotel in the afternoon. (B/L)

13th Day, Sunday: La Paz

You have a free day and stay overnight at the Hotel Europa in La Paz. (B)

14th Day, Monday: Copacabana – Sun Island

From La Paz, we travel to Copacabana, a small town on the Bolivian side of the Lake Titicaca. From

Copacabana, we cruise to the Sun Island where we have an Aptapi, a typical lunch. In the afternoon, we

visit the ruins of the Pilkokaina Inca temple before we return to Copacabana. We stay at the Hotel Rosario

del Lago. (B/D)

15th Day, Tuesday: Copacabana – Puno

From Copacabana, we reach the Peruvian Border after a short drive. From the border to Puno is it another

3 hour drive. At our arrival in Puno we have lunch. The rest of the day you have free time. We stay

overnight at the Hotel Jose Antonio in the outskirts of Puno. (B/L)

16th Day, Wednesday: “New Andean Explorer” Train to Cusco

At midday, we head to the Puno Railway station and board the “Andean Explorer Train” that brings us to

Cusco. This fascinating journey goes through a scenic high Andean countryside. We have lunch aboard the

train. We visit La Raya where the train reaches its highest point at 4.321 meters (15177 ft.) above sea

level. We have dinner aboard the train. In Cusipata the train stays overnight. (B/L/D) (Single room

accommodation on the train is not available)

17th Day, Thursday: Cusco

We have breakfast on the train before it reaches Cusco at 7:35 AM . The driver awaits us at the railway

station and brings us to the Hotel Jose Antonio. We do a city tour of Cusco in the morning. One of the

highlights is the Santo Domingo Convent, which is built over an ancient Inca Palace. Outside of Cusco, we

visit the Inca military fortress Sacsayhuaman. Later, we have a look at the Inca ruins of Qenko, Puca-

Pucara and Tambomachay. In the afternoon you have free time. Overnight you stay at the hotel Jose

Antonio in Cusco. (B)

18th Day, Friday: Sacred Valley of the Incas

“Awana Kancha” is your first stop on your way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Observe the typical

Andean animals “Guanacos“, “Llamas”

“Alpacas” and “Vicuñas”. At the colorful

market in Pisac, you can buy souvenirs for

friends and family at home. You have lunch

in a local restaurant. Characterized by

narrow streets and street canals,

Ollantaytambo is the oldest continuously

occupied settlement in the Americas. In the

late afternoon, you board the Explorer Train

and travel to Machu Picchu where we check-

in to the Hotel Casa Andina. (B, L)

19th Day, Saturday: Machu Picchu

With an expert guide, we explore Machu

Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Take your

time to explore Machu Picchu at your leisure

after the guided tour. We eat lunch at the

Sanctuary Lodge. We then return to

Ollantaytambo with the Explorer train and continue from there by bus to Cusco. Overnight we stay at the

Hotel Jose Antonio in Cusco. (B, L)

20th Day, Sunday: Cusco – Lima

We transfer to the airport in Cusco to board the flight to Lima, then transfer to the Hotel Jose Antonio in

Lima’s Miraflores district. Enjoy an interesting city tour of Lima’s colonial past. Discover the Plaza San

Martin and the Plaza Mayor with the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Cathedral. We

drive through the modern district of San Isidro and Miraflores on our way back to the hotel. During the

city tour, we invite you to our farewell lunch at the Larco Museum. You’ll spend the night at the Hotel Jose

Antonio Exclusive. (B/L)

21st Day, Monday: Departure
