Structural Glazing:

3M™ VHB™ Structural Glazing Tapes are fully-cured, durable, highperformance, pressure-sensitive acrylic foam tapes. They are used for attaching glass panels to metal frames in curtain wall systems, commercial windows and doors, skylight and canopy systems replacing commonly used structural silicone sealants, mechanical fasteners, and gaskets. Concrete/Masonry

Temporary Protection:

On most job sites, a temporary floor protection product is used to

protect the finished concrete floor. It’s important to have a tape that

provides clean removal when attaching the floor protection material

to the floor.

Expansion/Control Joints:

Expansion and control joints are used in many concrete surfaces to

minimize cracking caused by settlement, freeze/thaw cycling and

other environmental conditions. Using high quality sealants can

reduce the risk of moisture intrusion, further extending the life of

concrete surfaces.

Prep Work: Proper preparation of the surface substrates is a critical step in the air barrier installation process. This is where any gaps or voids in the exterior gypsum sheathing are filled and also where any loose debris, such as dirt and mud, is cleared from the surface. Having a clean surface ensures the adhesion of the air barrier membrane to the wall will be strong.




Seaming: Addressing the joints in the exterior gypsum sheathing and transitions between dissimilar substrates, such as gypsum sheathing and CMU, is necessary to create a complete air barrier system. Seaming these joints is especially important when using a spray-applied air barrier material because gaps are typically wider than what the spray-applied material can cover.

Flashing: Flashing materials protect and cover certain joints and angles on a building, such as where a roof comes into contact with a wall, from air and water leakage. Incorporating these materials into the air barrier system is necessary in order to keep water and air out of the building.

Self-adhered membrane products work well in densely populated areas where the risk of overspray is high and for buildings with a high number of details and openings. Parking Lot Geotextile Seaming:

Geotextiles are installed during site work to manage the variability of

the soil on the job site. These fabrics can separate, filter, reinforce,

protect or drain. Using adhesives to join geotextile fabrics is typically
