Polar Bears
Polar Bears live in the Arctic where it is very cold. They have thick fur to stay warm and black skin that helps them soak up the sun to keep them warm. Polar bears hunt for their food and eat fish, seals and birds. Polar Bears are the largest meat eaters that live on land. Baby polar bears are called cubs and mums look after their cubs for years.

Activities for other Key Learning Areas
History Past and Present Family Life
Activity 1 • Draw a picture of your family and label each family member with their name and age.
Activity 2 • Interview your mum or dad and find out what school was like for them when they were your age.
Activity 3 • Create a list of games that you play at home today. Ask your
parents what games they played in the past. Write these in a separate list.
Activity 4 • Find a picture of when you were a baby. Write how you have
