Day 1 – Las Vegas. Overnight flight from

Las Vegas, NV USA to Madrid, Spain.

Day 2 – Madrid/Avila. Mini-bus transfer

from Madrid airport to Avila, and check into

hotel for 2 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Lunch at hotel on arrival. Join with JMJ

group from Las Vegas arriving from Alba de

Tormes this evening.

Day 3 – Avila. Full day in Avila, where we

see the birthplace of St Teresa, the

Cathedral, Basilica of St Vincent, the Town

Plaza and The Church of St Teresa – where

we celebrate Mass, and the mighty Walls of

the town.

Day 4 – Avila/Madrid. Morning Mass in

Avila. Drive via El Escorial – the most

important architectural monument of the

Spanish Renaissance – which incorporates

a Church, Monastery, Royal Palace, College

and Library. Visit nearby Val de los Caidos –

Valley of the Fallen - where 40,000 were

buried after the Spanish Civil War. We see

the magnificent Basilica of the Holy Cross,

then drive into Madrid.

Our panoramic city sightseeing tour

includes: Puerta de Alcala, Royal Palace,

Campo del Moro Gardens, Almudena

Cathedral, City Hall, Gran Via Street, Prado

Museum, Puerta del Sol Square, and the

Los Ventas Bullring. Check into hotel for 1

night, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 5 – Madrid/Lourdes (France). Today

we join the JMJ coach and group, and drive

to Loyola to visit the Shrine of St Ignatius,

the Basilica, and his home. Afternoon drive

to Lourdes for 2 nights on full board.

Day 6 – Lourdes. Visit the famous Grotto

of Massabielle, Basilica of the Immaculate

Conception, Crypt, Basilica of the Rosary,

Chapel of St Bernadette, Underground

Basilica of St Pius X, the Baths, Stations of

the Cross – all in the vicinity of the Domain.

Walking tour to places associated with St

Bernadette including : Boly Mill, Cachot,

Hospice, Parish Church and Cemetery.Get

some Holy Water which comes from the

spring. Take part in the evening Rosary and

Torchlight Procession.

Day 7-

Lourdes/Manresa/Monserrat/Barcelona

Early breakfast and depart by coach to

Manresa. Here we visit the Cathedral, and

the Holy Cave of St Ignatius. Drive to the

mountain of Montserrat and visit the

Benedictine Monastery and pray before the

image of Nuestra Senora de Monserrat.

Continue to Barcelona, where we visit the

Cathedral of the Holy Cross and the famous,

unfinished Basilica of Segrada Familia.

Brief panoramic city tour of the highlights

includes the National Palace, Royal Plaza,

City Hall, National Museum of Art, Castle of

the Three Dragons, and the Olympic

Stadium. Check into hotel for 2 nights,

dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 8 – Barcelona. Full day at leisure in

Barcelona for further individual sightseeing

or shopping. Breakfast and dinner at hotel.

Day 9 – Barcelona/USA.

Breakfast. Transfer to Barcelona airport for

return flight to USA.
